Boom-Zap-Bang (Blue Smoke) Free Replacement - Works like a dream!!
I read some of the reviews and was a little skeptical about making this purchase at first, but the price point and the quality reivews on some YouTube channels convinced me to give it a shot. When the unit first arrived I plugged it into the wall and turned it on from the switch in the back, without even powering up the rest of the unit. It immediately blew my GFI breaker. So I reset the breaker and tried again. Same thing. I tried to isolate it on the GFI circuit and tried again. Same thing. So I tried a completely different GFI circuit, again isolating it and same thing. So I tried a 3rd GFI circuit and isolate it. Same deal. So I ran an extension cord into my kitchen and plugged it into the high power outlet that is not on a GFI breaker. This time the unit powered up. I tested the soldering iron and it seemed to work fine. So I switched over and tested the heater blower and when I lifted the unit out of its holder the whole unit made a LOUD POP sound and sparked with blue smoke. The unit would not turn on after that. I contacted support and they set me up with a free replacement immediately. So I packed up the unit as best I could in most of the original packaging. They had UPS come straight to my door for pickup service. Once the unit was in transit they immediately shipped me a replacement unit. Once I got it, I plugged it in and it worked like a dream! I was able to use it all day Sunday building out a power-signal junction board as seen in the photo. I am really happy with their support and responsiveness and promptness. You can tell the unit is really professionally built. It does the job very well and I'm able to work faster, solder more precisely and with better accuracy! They have replacement parts generally available. I highly recommend this unit!!

Great unit, great price!
Excellent solder station for the money! The regular soldering iron heats up quickly and holds temp well and the air-solder unit works equally as well.

Excellent Quality And Function!
This is a good hot air and solder rework station! It comes with the goodies shown in the Amazon pictures. Excellent value. One thing to remember is to check the spacing on these pin terminals and the orientation before trying to hook it up. These pins are small and can bend easily and usually that's not an issue. Some of my pins pins on the hot air device were slightly out of alignment and it would not couple. I looked at the orientation...very specific...and saw a slight misalignment. I corrected the issue and it installed easily. If you try to force it, you will further bend or even break some pins. This is general advice and true with compact pin connections. The air flow and temperature is easily adjustable. The solder station is easily adjustable too. I love this instrument! It's definitely worth buying. My second photo shows the goodies in the box...It wasn't jumbled up when I got it...I was excited to see everything! The unit feels very solid and quality built.

It’s great for the money
This soldering station is definitely not high end. Then again it did not have a high end cost. But, it does the job well enough. The tip that was in the soldering iron when it came could not heat up a gnats a$$. So, at first I was very disappointed. However, one of the larger tips works great setting the temperature at the max. The hot air desoldering gun I have only used to heat up heat shrink tubes.. It does that great. As for the temperature settings being accurate… I am not so OCD as to care. Does it perform as a soldering iron? Yes, adequately so. does the heat gun do what I wanted it to do? Yes, adequately so.The “accessories” that came with it are sub-par. However, they work adequately enough for my home lab.So, for the money it does great. I can’t (and shouldn’t) expect more than that.Had I the opportunity to do something different would I? Probably not.Would I recommend this to others? Only with the above caveats. Some people are more particular.

Great value and great performance
Let me start off with my work uses this exact model, so I am a bit biased off the start. I bought it because the one we have at work is reliable and does everything you need it to. Was very surprised at the price and it almost made me worried with how cheap it was. But I was very happily surprised, it heats up fast and accurately (has the option to calibrate if you have a way to measure the temperature) it’s not the most portable unit but it can be moved. The grip on both the iron and the hot air gun are very comfortable and it comes with additional tips that so far have been very good! All in all I would buy this again!

Excellent Station .. I like it better than Metcal's
Building a couple of projects with both SMT and thru hole parts and it's performing excellently!Temp control on the solder side and hot air side seem good so far.The tip life has been excellent .. I've been using 750F and 10 minutesleep mode. Those, in combination with not using a sponge (using the includedbrass mesh (with flux at the bottom) instead), have resulted in the tip stilllooking brand new after several hundred SMT and axial joints. The hot air helped me get a pesky misaligned BNC through hole connectorrealigned without destroying the PCB .. You get different diameters of nozzlesand I picked a smaller one so I wouldn't melt off 20 nearby SMD parts. No problems.Even more subjectively it just feels easy to do the soldering and hotair work. The Metcal might last longer (we had one Metcal fail and problemswith a second) but for $100 it totally fits my non-production duty cycle.
