Princess Diaries 1 And 2 (BD)

Great price for 2 movies. I love the first one more, the 2nd one is a bit cheesy at times, but still has a really cute story about Princess Mia's life after college. One of my favorite chick flick comedies. Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews are so fun to watch together. Shipping was fast and on time.

I loved these movies when I was a kid, they are definitely classics that still hold up today. I had the second one on DVD, but I always had to rent the first one from the library. So since I have been looking into future-proofing my childhood movie collection, this set definitely made my upgrade list. And this is a nice blu-ray set. Both movies are on 1 blu-ray disc, and while most blu-ray collectors don't exactly prefer having more than one movie per disc for video quality reasons, I found that I liked having both on the one disc. I definitely do a double feature viewing each time I re-watch these, so not having to get up to change the disc is nice. And with it being a Disney release it's not like they were remastered or anything, I don't think the video quality has really been impacted by both being on one disc. As far as the video quality, it is not a huge upgrade, if you don't usually care about video quality that much, you may not even notice much of any difference, but it is an improvement. A small and sometimes even downright subtle improvement, but still an improvement nonetheless. You will see the most benefits from having the blu-ray if you have a large 4K TV, as DVDs don't tend to look great stretched out so far anymore. So I do recommend getting this blu-ray set, I snagged it for $10, a great deal for two great movies. And on a personal note, I also love that it comes with the old DVDs, I really love having the best video quality possible for my movies now, but those DVDs hold a lot of nostalgia for me, and I love having it all in one package, so I can choose if I want my original experiences or the better video quality!

Good, clean family movies are hard to come by. Ones that meet that criteria and are actually fun to watch are even more rare. The Princess Diaries manages to do this. The fact that it features two major stars that are so well cast is icing on the cake. I have four daughters ages 7-12. They've watched both movies probably 2 dozen times and still enjoy pulling these out.

My kids love these two movies. I love that they portray women in a positive light. They have the power to make decisions, but realize that others are affected by their choices. Sometimes you must do what's best for others. I appreciate the friendships portrayed and the importance of trust and loyalty. Spoiler Alert - I also appreciate that they do not marry her off at the end in a neat and tidy life. Sometimes we must wait and not be pressured into doing something until we're sure it's what's best.
