Great mattress and steady frame
First of all the box this came in was damaged on one side. However, it was so well packaged on the inside of the box that there was no damage to the bed. We assembled the bed in about 15 minutes. The frame seems really strong and sturdy. I’m glad I ordered the Twin XL for extra length and width even though I’m five foot seven and 116 odd. The extra room is nice. Also, the bed is really cool which is important for hot summer nights here in Florida when the air conditioner isn’t enough. I was going to buy a mattress pad for it but found the bed to be really comfy without one. Would definitely buy another one. I’m sleeping on it every night in my girl cave which the coolest room in the house. This fits in the room great since we have a rather small house. Thanks Lucid for making a great folding bed. I feel like I’m on a regular mattress. More comfy than our tempur pedic bed. By the way, I researched folding beds for three months before purchasing this. My other folding bed was too small and had gotten hot and uncomfortable.

Good spare bed.
This bed is a great spare bed. Easy for storing in smaller areas, but folds out to a good size. It is very close to twin sized length with it being a little narrower than a standard twin. I use twin sheets with sheet grippers to hold them in place width wise. The mattress is nice and firm and comfortable. The bed has no hard braces across under the mattress, so nothing to irritate you when laying on it, but good support. I've laid on it and it's far better than I thought it might be. As one other reviewer stated, the four long braces have a bit of a sharp edge - it's from the metal mold and easily fixed. Use a metal file and it smooths those edges. Also, yes I found that the holes on the short braces for the wheels weren't large enough for the wheel bolts to go through, drilled them out a tiny bit and they fit perfect. Easy fixes to make this a great spare bed. We use it for the granddaughter's visits and she completely enjoys it. Overall we are completely pleased with this bed.

Comfy, compact yet sturdy bed (but there might be an assembly issue)
I had to order a cot for a family member who was going to visit me for a week and this product looked to be the best. Reviews seemed to say that it was comfy but there might be assembly issues and thats what I found to be true. The product arrived super fast!!! It came in 24 hours so that made me really happy. Once assembled, the bed rolls around and its fairly light and compact. The cot is memory foam and it is comfortable. I paid $299. I think its worth that. Would have like it to be more like $200, but I still feel that I got what I paid for. As for the assembly issues- its a problem. There are a few parts that you have to screw on and when you might bump into an issue is with the 2 short bars. The screws don't go through because the holes are big enough. Luckily, I read previous reviews that claimed they had the same issue with assembling it and so I was prepared for this. One person apparently waited for customer service to send new parts, which is probably a waste of time and another went to Home Depot or something to buy a machine that would drill hills through the metal bars, which sounds costly. Having read about their struggles and processes, I knew to just go to my local hardware store and they made the holes bigger to accommodate the screws. It cost me 2 bucks and it was fast. It was a slight inconvenience, which I don't believe should happen when I paid $299 for it, but it really wasn't that bad since I knew what to do. I can imagine someone who is not prepared for this to get very frustrated though. Aside for that minor issue, this bed is really good. If I didn't have to make an extra stop to the hardware store, this bed would be 5 stars. And if it goes on sale for like $250 or $200, I'd say definitely go for it!

Solved My Needing An Extra Bed Perfectly
I had guests coming, and needed an extra bed fast. After reading a lot of reviews, I settled on this bed. I couldn't have worked out any better. My guest that used it is a large, 6-foot, 3-inch man who weighs over 200-pounds. It fit him easily. Assembling it was a cinch. I did find that it moved around on a hardwood floor too easily, so I went to a big-box home improvement store and got a set of bed wheel cups that held it into place so it wouldn't move around. The mattress was comfortable, I was told. The mattress pad fit well, and the sheets fit, which made making the bed much easier. It's now folded up in a bedroom with a duster over it to be ready for the next time I will need it. I'm very happy with this purchase. It's well designed, well-constructed, and very supportive for a big person. Good product.

Buyer beware
I would have returned this item, but I needed to use it immediately ..and much feared that a replacement would pose the same issues. I had read some reviews which stated that there were problems with assembling the wheels and support bars..but it seemed that with most recent reviews, these issues had been resolved. I opted for this more costly bed because I assumed it would be of decent quality. The comfort level seems good, as does the overall sturdiness...BUT, assembly was a nightmare. Holes were not aligned properly or were not drilled to proper size , and so the screws would not go in. Directions are very poor. There is a jagged metal edge that could cause real injury ..as it is in the area where one needs to have fingers engage or disengage the locking mechanism. It is appalling that this type of quality is considered appropriate for sale. But I guess I am the fool..or the optimist in thinking that it would be an easy, satisfactory purchase. And why is it so difficult to contact Amazon to discuss an issue with a product? There is an impenetrable wall preventing the consumer from even simply sending an email. This entire experience was very disappointing, to say the least.

Received used bed, replacement was also used. Both returned.
LinenSpa did contact me to discuss the issue. I felt they were very straightforward, honest, and overall 5/5 star customer service. Receiving used beds could have very well been Amazon recycling returned items. I have returned both beds at this point. LinenSpa did try to remedy the situation, which I felt they're offers were above and beyond. However, I am not sure yet what to do about a bed. Regardless, it most likely won't be through Amazon. As for the bed my unbiased opinion (had it been new and in good quality) is that overall the bed was decent, but not at the price point. I would rate it at 3/5 for $300.00, but I would feel comfortable giving it 4.5/5 at the $150.00 range, based on the cost and quality of comparable alternatives. I would like to point out that LinenSpa did not ask me to edit or remove the review, which I appreciated. === Original Review (Rant?) and Update Below 1/5 Stars, Shipped Two Used Beds === Where to being. After reading several reviews and having somewhat mixed feelings before the purchase.. I firmly regret the purchase. Long story short, the company tried to repack a used bed frame and a USED MATTRESS on a new purchase. Apparently this has happened to quite a few people. The package came in a very beat up (8 inch holes) box, which I figured UPS had taped the box together a bit and as long as the bed was okay I wasn't going to care much. I realized after unpacking the components that things were slightly off. It was a mixture of wiped down pieces that almost look new and sealed manuals and hardware (bolts and wing nuts). The real problem came when I noticed the packaging on several pieces of hardware had been (very carefully) resealed with packing tape. Then I got to the mattress. The mattress came in what looked like factory packaging and for a moment I thought I was still ... safe enough? I had a guest (my daughter) coming to stay several nights (that night) and used frame wasn't a total deal breaker. The mattress was vacuum sealed and rolled up. It was wrapped in a saran-wrap plastic and placed inside a bag. However, after unwrapping it (which was also carefully put together with packing tape) I noticed the edges had been resealed with .. more packing tape. At this point I was pissed. I was pretty sure that I just paid $300 for a used, possibly bed bug infested, mattress. I opened it anyway.. to confirmed that it was used and not just poor packaging. The foam mattress came in a zipped cotton cover that seamed clean, until I opened it and there was dirt, lint, and hair on the mattress inside. I was furious. The fact that the company would so negligently re-gift a used mattress and possibly contaminate someones home with ..who knows what.. and expect someone to sleep on that is appalling. The fact that it was so meticulously repacked just added to the insult. It appears to be a common practice with this company (LinenSpa) based on other reviews. What could have happened if they had covered their tracks any better? Regardless of any of the previous issues, the metal frame isn't very strong and admittedly cheap feeling. Its extremely light and cheaply made. The "memory foam" mattress is basically a foam pad. I have a memory foam mattress. This pad doesn't even hold the shape of your hand for 0.0005 seconds (you can't make a hand print in it like all other real memory foam products). I will say that the bolts did fit through the holes, unlike every other reviewer's bed frame. Overall, even if it had been a clean, new, smooth purchase... I wouldn't pay more than $150.00 for it. My memory foam topper for the other bed is literally 6,000 times better quality than this plastic pad. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004AR5X92) I would say the frame is worth $35.00 - $50.00 at Wal-Mart-ish quality by itself. Absolutely not $300.00 - $400.00. Final thoughts? Do not buy. This company is purposely deceptive and you could end up with a bed bug infestation. The box says "Designed in USA" proudly. It's all made in China and they don't care if they shortchange you or sell a dirty mattress. A little tape, a new cover, and back out the door. 800% mark-up isn't enough apparently. Originally I thought it may have been an Amazon error, but the hardware and instructions was in sealed new bags and the mattress was vacuum sealed and repacked. I highly doubt a nefarious buyer, or Amazon, would have gone to such great lengths. It was absolutely LinenSpa. I would rate 0/5 if I could. === UPDATE === I decided to accept a replacement before completely giving up on this bed. It can't go wrong twice right? The second one arrived in worse condition than the first and, you guessed it, the mattress and bed had been used and taped back up. ****ing amazing. I opened the package to make sure.. and a giant wad of hair falls out. **** that.

Easy to Set Up and Very Comfortable.
The LUCID Rollaway bed was purchased to be used as an extra guest bed when family comes to visit. I was a little nervous about the setup after reading other people's reviews about holes not lining up, but I think that if there were any manufacturing issues at one point, they have since been resolved. Setup took just a few minutes and did not require any tools. The two legs at the bottom of the bed are already attached and just fold down. Two crossbars and four wheels are added once the legs are folded down. The cross bars keep the legs from folding back up and the wheel units are held in place with a wing nut that is easily tightened by hand. There are also four additional bars that are attached between each of the four pairs of legs to the bed. (Once attached, the legs will automatically raise and lower as you fold the bed up or down.) These are held in place with eight more bolts and wing nuts. I did run across a faulty wing nut (bad threading) in each of the beds that I ordered, but the package included an extra, so I had what I needed to complete setup. Once the four support bars are attached, the bed can be folded down and all that remains is to open the memory foam mattress and place it on top of the bed platform. A couple of notes/tips: 1. Make sure to allow for a couple of days for the mattress to fully expand after setup. Much like other memory foam products, the mattress is vacuum sealed and will take a bit of time to fully expand. (Although I did test it after just a few hours and it was already very comfortable.) 2. While allowing the mattress to expand, I'd suggest leaving it in the garage or in a well-ventilated room. At first I had the beds set up in the family room without any noticeable smell, but once they were assembled and moved into a smaller room, there was a definite smell of fresh foam padding. The smell went away after a couple of days, but I did leave the bedroom window open for ventilation. 3. When you fold the bed down the first time, it may pop back up on one end. With my beds, I noticed that platform had little rods sewn into pockets along the edges (for the springs to attach to) which had shifted a little in transit. I had to nudge one rod slightly back into place and the bed stayed down. 4. Bedding: I used twin-size sheets without any issues, but if you want the bottom, fitted sheet to be snug on the mattress, I'd suggest getting sheet clips/grippers. You can buy cot sheets that will fit without the clips, but I was able to buy twin sheet sets and clips for both rollaway beds for much less than a single cot sheet set. 5. Height: The bed does not sit very high off the ground. For children who fall off the bed at night or young adults, this won't be an issue. For elderly guests you may want to look for a rollaway that sits higher off the ground as this bed may be difficult for them to get into/out of. 6. Weight: The bedframe and mattress together are both very lightweight and easy to move around on the included wheels. As far as the weight that the bed can support, I could not find any listed weight, but a 275lb adult used it without any issues. Overall, I am very happy with the two beds that I purchased and will probably buy a couple more as our family gatherings continue to grow. One of the nicest things about this bed is that there are no uncomfortable cross beam supports to poke you in the back. The platform gives nice support while also allowing the bed to conform to your body shape. It is a very comfortable rollaway. **2016 UPDATE** As I thought I might, I've had to add another rollaway bed to the collection for visiting family members. As I set up the new bed, I noticed a couple of changes that I thought I'd mention because it changed a couple of my notes from the previous purchases of the same bed. Change to #1 Above: The memory foam mattress pad is no longer vacuum sealed when shipped. Instead, the fully expanded mattress is sealed in a plastic bag with a couple of moisture absorbing packets and shipped fully expanded in the box. This means that you won't have to wait for the mattress to expand before using it. Change to #3 Above: The manufacturer has changed the way that the poles are sewn into the edge of the support platform and you won't have to worry about the poles slipping out of the pockets any longer. This is a small but very nice change and it also makes the support platform look much more finished. New Change: The zippered mattress cover that comes on the memory foam mattress core now has a non-slip textured surface on the bottom to help keep the mattress in place on the platform. It also seems to make it much easier to fold the bed up after use. (The old covers were fabric on all sides and could slip out of place when the beds were folded up. I am still very happy with these beds (both the original ones purchased, and the new ones) and continue to use them for visiting friends/family.

Heavy duty for a heavy guy
I spent a lot of time reading reviews for rollaway beds and settled on this one because of the high weight limit. We needed a pair of portable beds for temporary use and then in the future for guest use. My husband is an easy 350 lbs., and surprisingly, this bed supports him and is comfortable. His weight makes the bed squeak a little, and it's a bit of a challenge to get out of as it's lower to the ground than a standard bed, but those are small compromises for him. We positioned the two together, and it's as big as a king sized bed. The bed takes a little effort to assemble, but it's nothing more than a handful of wingnuts and braces and didn't require extra drilling like other reviews mentioned. The mattress has it's own zippered padded slip cover and stays put all night. It's pretty easy to fold up and roll away into a corner. Has two locking wheels as well. This bed isn't as portable, but beats the heck out of an airbed for my guests.
