Outstanding product at an outstanding value
My watch just arrived here in sunny Kandahar, Afghanistan. It exceeds my every expectation.Materials: Extremely durable casing, attractive finish to the face and the exterior (not tacky, as so many in this price range are), sturdy clip.Features: The microlight is red. I might have preferred a simple white, but I guess they were going for the tactical map reading idea - it's advertised as a "military" image. All the same, it's plenty bright even in a pitch black room - no problems walking around and not bumping into things. And you probably could read a field map with it too. :-)Value: This watch is a steal for the price. Even watches $20-40 more in price are shoddy in comparison. And then - I gotta mention it - the box. Even the box is amazing. The watch comes in a dual clasp sealed weather resistant plastic casing that can be reused for any number of things (in my case, clasped to the outside of my assault pack to keep small items dry and accessible.)Shipping: Well packed, and fast - beat the required delivery date by weeks.Buy with confidence dear readers - this one won't disappoint you. I wanted a low cost belt loop/pocket watch because I hate typing with a wrist watch on, one that I could use on deployment, expecting that anything I bought for this price would probably not last beyond a year. I see many years of use out of this watch (and its very special box) to come.

Works Great
It has been holding up to my forestry/park maintenance work, and keeps the right time. The crystal on my last watch, of another brand, broke in two days of use. After a few months of use, and the only thing it is used for is at work, it looks and works great.

Durable and convenient
My husband has a knack for breaking watches, no matter how durable they say they are. So this time I opted for a clip watch as a gift for him, and after reading other reviews about the Dakota MiniClip, I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did! My husband works with a lot of tools and machinery at his job, and says he never has to worry about his watch getting busted anymore. This one stays clipped to his belt loop, and the clip is very sturdy. The red microlight isn't anything special, but it's fairly handy, and that was more of a bonus for him anyway. He's happy with it, and I don't have to worry about purchasing any more watches! The antique finish is nice too, it looks like a brushed silver.Side note, we were also impressed with the packaging the watch came in - a small wooden box.All around, this is completely worth the price.

Looks great and also takes a beating!
I have owned 4-5 of these watches over the past 10 years because I can't stand having a watch on my wrist. They are very rugged and never fail me. At first I thought the LED was a useless feature, but I actually use it all the time. In fact, that's one of the reasons I keep buying these watches. Word of warning, if you do a lot of physical labor and carry a lot of materials around these watches do get scratched and beat up, just like any other watch under those conditions. But they also keep ticking no matter what I put them through. I just bought another one in an effort to keep one really nice for dressier occasions.

Wonderful little watch
This Dakota MiniClip watch is the perfect solution to those times when wearing a wristwatch isn't practical or desirable. I found the size to be perfect, yet adequate for my aging fifty-something eyes. It's surprisingly heavy, given its size, but not to the point of being a distraction.I've used this watch twice a week for the past 8 weeks and it appears to be holding up quite well. The clip remains strong with no weakening of the spring. The bezel still looks great, with only a couple of minor scratches from normal use. I'm a bit picky about how things look and this watch still looks as great today as the day I unpacked it from it's nifty box.The red LED light is a novelty, but not particularly useful. It's a "nice to have" feature that might prove its value some day. I simply haven't found a reason to use it, yet.Overall, the Dakota MiniClip watch will not disappoint those who are looking for an inexpensive alternative to the traditional wristwatch. Looks great and works as described. A solid performer for the money.

If you a need to know time what it is - this is an excellent multipurpose timepiece.
Seems sturdy and it is easy to read in various levels of light.I use it for hiking, as I tend to lose track of time (no matter where I am, actually). It is not unusual for me to find the light almost gone at the end a hike, because I misread the sunset going down in the Foothills.I also often hang it on my keychain when going places. I don't like wearing a watch and I don't always carry my cell phone around. Nor do I like digging my cell out of my purse to look at the time. I looked at a lot of these type of clip watches during the past year in various stores and online while considering buying one. I am very happy that I got this Dakota, and it looks good too.

Large easy to read face
There were no specs on the size of the face. It turns out to be the same size as my Timex expiditions so that was a pleasant surprise. It feels substantial and is a little thicker than a wristwatch. 12, 3, 6, & 9 are reflective while the other numbers are a high contrast color to the face so it is easy to read at any angle. It looks good on my cargo pants! The face is more of a navy blue than indigo/purple shown in the pictures.
