Perfect for vacation home rentals, and it works!
We recently purchased a cabin to use and rent as a vacation rental. We quickly realized we had a rodent problem when exploring the in's and out's of the new place. I first purchased two of the mouse sized units, but found one moved across the attic on my next visit and realized I was dealing with a rodent that was a bit bigger than I had thought. I ordered these, and after reading reviews took great care to ensure I wore gloves when handling the unit to avoid transferring my scent. They were easy to set up, and I put one in the utility room and the other in the attic. About two days later, sitting at home about 1.5 hours away, I got an alert that the attic trap had a kill. The next day, I went to the cabin and was a bit skeptical, but when I entered the attic I saw the back half of the largest rat I have ever seen sticking out the back of this device. Needless to say, money well spent. I emptied the trap by tilting it back and letting the rodent slide into a trash bag and then reset the trap. We got a mouse in the same trap the next day.As the rat size works on both, unless you are sure you only have a mouse problem I would suggest getting the rat size and cover all your bases. What I like about this trap is that I'll know when I get a kill so I can deal with it quickly as we are not always at the cabin to check the trap. I also like the idea that if a guest is at the house, I don't have to worry about a screaming rat with a spring trap caught on it's tail running around the attic. It's pretty likely that no one would ever know there was a kill, and if the guest was staying for a while I could at least come up with a plan to deal with the kill before hearing a complaint about a dead animal smell. For the wifi, it has a pretty good reach through floors and walls. I can confidently cover the whole cabin with these traps and plan to pick up a few more as I work my way through sealing the access points. This way, if I get a kill I know I have more work to do in the area.

My mice went from thumb size to hamster size with all the extra fees I was giving them
a few months ago while working in my shop I noticed a couple mice watching me, at that time they were no longer then my thumb. So I jumped on amazon and found a trap that would let me know when I’ve made a kill by my iPhone app I was excited to wake so I could tally up my kill numbers. After many tries I was unable to get the trap to link with my phone but I was still excited to bait it & see what I caught the next day. So the following day getting back to work I went to check my trap only to find the bait All ate & no sign of dead mice?. I chalked it up to user fail, I baited the trap again and went to work excited to get back and count the dead. Once again bait was ate & no dead mice? So I pulled up the trap on YouTube to see if I was doing something wrong, I even tested it as they did to make sure it had power. Feeling pretty good about it now I reloaded the bait & set the trap in the best location. Woke up the next morning thinking I’m going to need a bucket to haul the massive loads of dead mice I would soon see. Only to find the bait all ate and no dead mice? Now after several weeks the mice are no longer the size of my thumb but more the girth of hamsters after being so well feed. I found the mice now come running when the hear the sound of the plastic box hitting the floor As if it needed extra attractions They decorated the trap with a blinking green light when you push the button I’m guessing is just a way the hearing impaired mice know when it’s feeding time. If your looking to use this trap to kill mice this would not be a good buy, if your looking to have fun feeding the mice to see how fat they can become, this is your mouse trap!

Internet connected mouse trap sounds crazy but I’m a fan. New: setup issues with iOS 13.3.1?
The whole idea of an internet connected mouse trap seems kind of ridiculous. Is this an Onion parody turned into a real product? But I got a couple of these anyhow to put down in the garage to prevent a repeat of last winter’s “rodent invasion apocalypse” which cost a LOT of money to fix. They work and it turns out to be amazingly handy to get the alert to remind me to go on down and empty out the trap. I haven’t used them long enough to have a good idea of battery life but they are still over 75% after 3 weeks and 4 rodents zapped.Update - battery life has been fine - multiple months. One did lose connection and need to be completely reset. False trigger notices mean they need cleaning. So, I bought 2 more. The new ones, WR190808GVXXXXX and WR190811GVXXXXX (both on FW 1.3.3) were a royal pain to set up. Setup on an iPhone X running iOS 13.3.1 failed repeatedly. Connection to the trap’s own WiFi network failed multiple times. After successfully connecting to the trap’s WiFi network, set up failed with “there has been a network error” when attempting to retrieve the available WiFi networks so that I could select my home network. This failed 100% of the time on both units after multiple attempts. I was within 10 feet of the WiFi access point and I tried all the usual things - restarting the app, power cycling the traps and my phone. The older traps had been no problem to set up on the same phone a year ago (with an older version of iOS).I *was* able to complete setup of the 2 new traps after only a few retries using an iPhone SE running iOS 13.3. This suggests that there might be an incompatibility with the Victor app and the most recent iOS release. I reported it to Victor, so with luck a fix is coming.

Cant get through setup
Do not buy. These are junk. I bought a total of 6 of these about a year ago and only 3 remain working. 2 were DOA, could not provision them, seems like internal firmware gave up on setup I couldnt even get to the screen to connect to my internet just a spinning wheel, so I complained and they agreed to replace with the older, non-wifi version. Another one went offline and now it has the same problem <$200 wasted.
