Thomas and Friends - Classic Collection: The Complete Fifth Series [VHS]

A timeless children's show that doesn't have to spell out the moral of the story for each episode. Beautiful practical sets, soundtrack and narration.The series truly deserves a HD restoration like the Gerry Anderson shows have received.

Another great addition to the Thomas legacy. None of these stories are based on the railway series by Thomas creator Rev W Awdry but none the less keeps the magic of sodor alive and captures the imagination of children. This series introduces Thomas to more severe crashes and accidents than previous series and suceeds in creating tenser and more gripping stories. My two year old daughter was captivated by these episodes and enjoyed talking to me about the escapades using her developing vocabulary. Very amusing and keeps her amused and quiet.

So far this is the best Thomas dvd we have seen. Perfect for a boy who likes los of crashes. There's a dog, and a ram on the line, cranky the crane... I mean, what's not to like?

No problems. I ordered it, paid for it and received it in the time frame advertised.

I found this like the first four complete series very entertaining. Kept people entertained for hours

Thought might be a change from the first two dvds which my child finds hilarious especially dvd 1 however he found this one a bit scary and is now worried about ghosts. So beware!

I grew up watching this season in the US narration when I was two years old and when I watched the UK narration, I was taken aback with amazement. These episodes hold dearly for me along with the first four seasons. This was the season that I was introduced to Thomas the tank engine and it's still my favorite in the model era.

This DVD doesn't work in Australia!! It's the wrong region code. I assumed buying something from Amazon AU that the product could be used here. Complete waste of $25. FURIOUS AMAZON!!!

Here's the deal with this DVD: It is region 2. I didn't realize this when I ordered it despite the "UK Import, PAL" in the product details. This would normally mean it wont play on most American DVD players, but wait! I have a MacBook Pro from Fall 2010 that has a DVD drive. It totally plays. This means our son can watch it portably or connected to the TV via HDMI connection. Score. Also I was expecting Alec Baldwin (love that guy), but I haven't heard his voice on the DVD yet.
