Q: My petunias are planted with a degroots spire arbortive in containers….will this fertilizer harm the evergreen?

No it will not. Jacks is a great fertilizer for this type of container planting. I’ve used it in the same application and it worked great.

Q: How often and what amount for hanging baskets?

Hanging baskets & pots need to be watered more often than plants in the ground. Use the fertilizer/ water ratio the company gives. I have a water meter. A great investment for $10. Otherwise put your finger about 1 inch into the soil to determine when water is needed. Use the petunia feed on all the plants they recommend. It does a great job!

Q: Does this expire? Mine is a couple years old and as soon as I watered with it, my petunias wilted.

I have used mine this year that has to be at least 2 years old. No problems. Maybe you are over watering v, do You pinch the sad looking ones off, that’s important.

Q: What’s the difference been Jacks classic & Jacks petunia feed?

Classic has a ratio of 20-20-20 while the petunia feed is 20-6-22 (nitrogen/phosphate/potash). The petunia feed has a higher iron content .20 vs .10% also. My flowers in the petunia family seem to have more buds and blooms this year using this petunia food. The 20-20-20 is a great all around feed, however.
