A couple helpful hints for installation
I really like how the rail caps cover up all the scratches on my 10 year old truck. It's a quality product and I'm glad I spent the extra few dollars. Here are a couple helpful hints for installation. 1. After all the prep outlined in the instructions, set the caps on the truck for about an hour during a sunny day. 2. While the caps are just placed temporarily, run some masking tape down the back of the rail (just above the tail light) and onto the truck. 3. Mark a line on the masking tape vertically. 4. Cut the tape at the seam between the truck and cap. Now you have an index mark. 5. Take the box that the rails came in and put it across the bed over the front stake holes. 6. Take all the backing tape off one rail and place the front of the rail on the box. This will prop it up, allowing you to get the back aligned without worrying about the front sticking before it is time. 7. Carefully position the back of the rail in place using the index marks. 8. Support the cap while removing the box and then guide it gently into place. I think it works best to make sure the inner lip is lined up because it doesn't have tape. Good luck. This is one of those things that should be best done first on your friend's truck because once you've done it one time you know what you're doing.

Good quality and appearance. Very challenging installation.
The quality and appearance are great. It takes care to get the cap on straight and centered, but it looks sharp if you measure it out, take your time, and do it well. I'm satisfied with this product, and it looks really sharp. You cannot tell by looking it wasn't professionally installed. However, I can't give it five stars. Here's why: First, it doesn't come down quite far enough to cover the holes in the tailgate for the OEM cap easily. If you get this cap on just right and press down incredibly hard, it will cover them--but just barely. There is ZERO allowance for error. I thought my cap was on perfectly, but I noticed too late that if viewed from below (like, put your head on the bumper) one of the holes was not quite sealed. Some black RTV silicone gasket-maker (mask the paint first) and a bit of patience fixed the problem. The repair is absolutely invisible. But, really? The tiniest amount of extra depth--even an eighth of an inch--would have avoided that problem entirely. I shouldn't have to make up for oversights in design. Secondly, the cap is affixed to the tailgate with 3M double-faced tape. The instructions say to start pulling the protective backing down to where it can be reached, then press the cap on while slowly pulling the rest of the backing off. Problem: tape has seams. The cap manufacturer made a trivial attempt to address that, but it does not work. I mean, it was a total failure. It was crazy hard to restart the peeling of the protective backing after crossing the tape seam. Think of two people working, MAXIMUM muscular effort to open up room to work, a high intensity light, and picking at the backing with a pair of tweezers. Yes, we got it restarted. Yes, the cap is attached firmly and I don't anticipate any problems with it. BUT that was massively frustrating. In summary, if the cap came down the outside of the tailgate just a little further, and avoiding seams in the attaching tape would take this product from good to excellent, and transform the very challenging installation to almost routine.

Fantastic look
2001 GMC Bushwacker knock it out of the park. This looks better than spray in liner. Perfect fit and design. Looks like OEM. Don’t get the cap with the stake holes. This has three continuous strips of 3M tape would hate to try and get this cap off. I waited 18 years to put this on my truck. WOW does it look great. My truck is still like new and low miles. What a great addition to the look. Be careful putting it on. Follow instructions to the tee. Do it in warm weather. Set the cap in the sun for just a few minutes to warm it up. Set it in place and then put small pieces of blue tape in about seven places to mark the final location of the cap “ before” you pull any tape. That way you will know for sure it is in the absolute correct position when you are pulling the tape. Good luck. God bless.

Great Product and Quality, Fantastic Seller
I bought these bed caps because the reviews were good and they were touted as heavy duty. I am very satisfied with the fit and finish and on my truck bed they fit perfectly and stake bed holes align well. I would advise if you have never installed something like this before using VHBT (Very High Bond tape) that you do it carefully after cleaning the surface. This stuff really sticks. These improved the look of my truck considerably. The product is one thing, but I would recommend buying from this seller. I had to communicate with them and they were A+ in my top 5 for sure. I never go wrong with amazon, but this was exceptional even by those standards.

Couldn't be more dissatisfied with Bushwacker, especially considering the price!
Ordered the Bushwacker bed rail caps thinking it was a no-brainer and while the bed rail caps arrived in a timely manner, the stake holes were off significantly, partially covering the front stake holes, on both sides of my very average 2003 Silverado extended cab w/6.5 ft bed. I called Bushwacker, answered numerous questions (including an inspector ID #149) and sent them the numerous pictures they requested and waited. Finally they said they could send out another set. I waited a week or better and called them again. Was told they were done and would be overnighted. They took two more days to arrive. I opened this package and immediately noted there was NO inspection sticker. Upon further inspection I saw that not only were the stake holes off again, this time the pieces both looked like they had been taken off the mold while still hot and the plastic was wavy in spots. I was also quite disappointed to find that the stake holes were roughly cut in vs being molded in and that the holes were quite large compared to the actual stake holes. I will say that their LOGO was LARGE and perfectly formed on each and every piece. ;-} Needless to say they are being returned and I'll be looking elsewhere for bed rail caps.

After looking far and wide and trying other brands I picked these up. They are well made. As others have said they are shorter than they should be but that seems to be standard amongst all brands. Also - I ordered the ones without stake holes as they are also never in the right spot. Word of warning - this tape will stick a cat to a wall. Do not let it touch the truck in the wrong spot or it won't come off. I warned you. Also note that if you have a rolling bed cover like I do these things need to be modified. They have short raised sections where the bolts go in and it means the bed opening becomes too narrow. I cut them out and instead hold the caps down with the bed cover rails instead.
