Wonderful Microwave Set
I haven't used my microwave a lot for cooking, mostly as I suspect a lot of people do for re-heating and I'm very happy with all the new things that are available for use in the microwave since I first tried microwave cooking quite a long time ago and was not pleased with the results. These bowls for example. I cooked 1.5 lbs of 85% ground beef in the largest one for 7.5 minutes on high power in a 1000 watt microwave and it was completely cooked, no hard or uncooked spots and it was brown. I used the lid that came with it and my microwave was steamed nicely but not splattered with grease, an excellent side effect. In the glass dish I have been using it takes almost twice this time to cook the same amount of ground beef, and it does not come out brown at all, there are hard pieces in it and it is unevenly cooked. What a difference time and technology makes.I am disabled due to severe RA and these are going to be wonderful for me. I used the large one next to cook Success Rice in according to package directions and it came out perfect, also saving me time and money as opposed to heating up water on the electric stove, putting the rice in and letting it boil. Then I would have had to use more hot water to wash the pan, well you get the picture. I suggest if you are looking for a nice gift for someone who is disabled, on a fixed income this would be a nice thing to give them.I have now used all 3 sizes and I am very pleased with them. I used one with chopped tomatoes and rice and did not have any staining but it was not a sauce. So I can't speak to other reviews I have seen that says they stain. But even if they do, to me its not a big deal, I'm not using them for a show and sitting them in a sunny window will help take out the stain. No biggie.I will buy another set of these as my budget allows. Highly recommend these, I know I will be using these for steaming veggies, cooking many other things. The compact size, lids fitting the bottoms for easy storage, freezer use, and to me, the excellent vented lid make these one of my favorite kitchen finds in a long time.Edited 02/10/2013 For those who wonder how these are holding up they are still doing well with no warping, cracking or peeling and we use them daily in the microwave and for freezing to the microwave. If you're wondering still if these are a worthwhile investment, don't worry. They are. I'm here today to get another set.

GREAT FOR EVERYDAY USE -ESPECIALLY IN THE MICROWAVE
love being able to heat up food in microwave and not have it turn to rocks or lose all its moisture. Even scrambled eggs and even hot dogs heat up great IN these dishes. remember to open cover vent. and so light-weight. I love my original corning-ware from 40 years ago but it's so heavy and has no vented cover. These are Great for all kinds of uses. One person who responded to a question I asked said she never used them in the microwave. That's what they were invented for....so I wonder what she uses them for..But they make great dishes just to eat out of AND because they are so light, THEY.would be perfect for toddler, aged person, or anyone not wanting a heavy plate.IF YOU GET INTO THE SINK WITH SOME DETERGENT AND WATER AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE AFTER USING TOMATO BASED PRODUCT, IT SHOULD COME CLEAN RIGHT AWAY.IF IT DOESN'T..SO WHAT. UNLESS YOU ARE SERVING IT TO ROYALTY (AND THEY WOULD CERTAINLY EXPECT BETTER THAN CORELLE ANYWAY. ) by the way, no place on my set says Corellle, only Reston Lloyd.the set really is nothing like Corelle and is actually pretty shabby quality- it has scratched up with very little use. I do not care as nobody but me will see it...but for the price I still am glad I bought it and I use it at least once a day.

They are nice but they're nowhere near the size they are advertised to be ......
These are fine little storage containers but it WAS very disappointing that they turned out SO much smaller than described.I have no idea why there is such a discrepancy. Somewhere along the line someone must have confused them with some OTHER product, maybe. ( ??? )Amazon's " Product Details " description gives a measurement of 16 X 11 X 9.5 inches but that is QUITE misleading.(I thought that they were describing the largest of the three containers.)All three containers are square, not rectangular.Measuring from the BOTTOM, where your food will actually SIT, the LARGEST of the three containers is only 7 and 3/4 inches square. (The handles increase it's SHELF space to 7 X 9.)The middle container's bottom is 6 X 6 inches square. (SHELF space is 6 X 71/2 inches.)The smallest container is actually 5 X 5 inches square. (SHELF space -- 5 X 6 1/2 inches)They are ALL the same DEPTH -- 2 inches deep WITHOUT the lid -- WITH the lids they're not QUITE fully 2 1/2 inches deep.( Even if you stack all three of the containers ATOP each other WITH their lids on, the stack only comes up to about 7 1/2 inches tall.I don't know how ANYBODY came up with the 16 X 11 X 9.5 measurement listed.)It became OBVIOUS that they were way smaller than described, once I actually got the package out of the delivery box, but I didn't bother to actually MEASURE them with a tape measure until NOW, when someone wrote in and ASKED me to.And no, I have not bothered to measured PRECISELY just how many ounces each one holds. The product description says you CAN, but I still have not run any of the containers through the dishwasher OR used them in the microwave, so I can't comment on their ability to resist staining or warping. They ARE quite attractive and when not in use they look very nice, displayed among the rest of my Calloway collection. They are fine at keeping foods fresh and I DO like them.
