Works Great!
My mini-split install was almost ruined by a couple of poor quality factory flares that leaked badly. This flare tool came to the rescue. It was delivered quickly, it was easy to use, and it produced perfect flares that did not leak. Nice case, too! This tool has earned a spot in my toolbox.

Well-Fitting Flaring Kit with Clear Instructions and Solid Performance
Used this kit for HVAC line prep and brake tubing. The dies fit snugly and produced clean 45-degree flares without visible leakage. The cone rolls smoothly and doesn’t scratch the tubing. Instructions were clear enough to follow without guesswork, and the clamp held the pipe securely during use. The cutter worked well on soft metal and PVC. The hard case has a clean layout and keeps the tools organized. The metal parts have a matte finish and look well-machined. For the range of sizes and included tools, it’s a good value for occasional or professional use.

Ingenious tool works very well. Great investment for a mini-split install
Very nicely made. Easy to use. Ingenious tool which created perfect flares every time on copper refrigerant hoses. Great for installing a mini-split. Eccentric wedge "rolls" the flare into shape which helps prevent uneven or pitted flares. Nice.

Excellent for the $$$
I purchased this a couple of months back as I had just ordered a new mini split system and needed to shorten the copper line set. The line said I was using was 5/8 by 3/8. For some reason, the 3/8 would not grip in the die so I had to wrap some electrical tape (2x wrapped) around it to grip. Not sure if this was the fault of the line set or the die itself being too large. In any case, I was able to create perfect eccentric, flares, and then just applied some dialogue before I tighten them down with the flare nuts.Overall I was very pleased with this set after I did a couple of test flares and figured out the trick to get it rightPA- Attached is a photo of one of the test flares I did. I did not have the tube inserted far enough, so I ended up with the shallow flare, but as you can see, it is very smooth.

Nice flaring tool
I used this tool to replace some copper oil lines. The tool worked fine and I made about 20 flares all in all. One improvement would be to have a longer countersink on the side of the tool for centering the flaring device over the tube. In one instance I was not centered and the side pin made its own indent in the side of the tool and resulted in a useless flare (of course, user error, but still there could be an improvement made there). Also, after a dozen or so uses the tool had some wear and would sometimes leave a score mark on the tubing. I think using a harder tube holding material would improve the tool greatly.

Great tool, perfect flares.
Awesome product, perfect flares, easy functionality. The design is pretty straighforward, but the only opportunity I see would be to include a gauge on it to see how far to stick the pipe out to make perfect flare. I had on in the past with a stick out gauge. So it was a learning experience to get them perfect, but you learn quick. I have always done nickel thickness, but that was too much. ended up being lcoser to a dime / credit card. Very well made, durable. Not too bulky or cumbersome. This ones a keeper. Perfect for HVAC.

Used to redo flares on a mini split install.

two socket head screws must be removed for clamp to slide into flaring tool!
the tool is shipped unusable as is. i finally discovered why. on one side of the clamp there is a seemingly useless pin that sticks out and prevents the clamp from sliding into the flaring tool. and on the other slide of the clamp, the side that hinges, there are two seemingly useless socket head screws that .... prevent the clamp from sliding into the flaring tool. soooo i removed these screws (which are not shown in any of the product pictures, they don't show that side) and now i think the set will work fine. i notice many of the other one star reviews think the flaring cone is assembled wrong but it's not, the offset is intentional. so now i think the set will work fine. i haven't tried it yet. took me couple days to figure out those two socket head screws must be removed. i can't imagine why they are there... ???
