This is overall a good card and I have the external power hooked to it. But 2 times in the last month, the card basically didn't appear to work at all. Both times were cold boots, not related to hibernate or sleep issues. I am using W7 Pro x64. I had to open my case and reseat the card to get it to work. Not sure why, I don't disturb my case or the cards in the case. Really good read/write speeds and I am able to use an external hard drive dock along with HDTUNE to see full SMART status. Something that some external enclosures and usb 3 cards have trouble reporting.

Have a computer that started having usb connection issues related to a instability to its 5v on its front ports. By installing this PCIe card with power support through an external sata plug, and extending its usefulness by using a hub to ease access, I now have four additional stable ports. Easy installation but since the drivers come on a mini cd, its easier and better to download the driver package from the site. Its better especially since the driver package was recently updated this past January. Good buy.

I installed the card easily enough (did not need the cable to connect to my power supply as the power supply cable had the same black connector that allowed me to directly attach instead. I tried the software and was a bit confused on what I was seeing as it seemed to have drivers for network adapter, usb devices, usb controller, and something else. It was not clear to me if I needed to install these at all since I use Windows 10. I tried to install the software, but it just seem to get stuck part way in the installs. When I cancelled finally, it still wanted to reboot my system to apply something, which made me nervous. Anyway, I bought usb 3.0 wireless network adapter that claims to be gigabit (@ 800mb or so using 5gz and usb 3.0), and on my Timewarner that claims I should get 200mb, I will seeing just 100mb download and @20mb upload. Note that I am doing all this hopla in preparation for google fiber, so I really do not know this is working as expected or not. It certainly is not yet with Timewarner. Is it card, drivers, router, service provider, or something completely different? Sigh... Anyway, I will keep the card and see how Google fibers goes.

good price, easy install, make sure you connect the power cable, helped add extra ports that are USB 3.0 to an older computer.

En Linux no requiere controladores adicionales y es reconocida de inmediato. Para Windows es necesario descargar los controladores actualizados del sitio de X-Media. Requiere alimentación adicional de un conector de corriente SATA, por lo que incluye un adaptador molex (de los que usan los discos IDE) a SATA en caso de que no se cuente con un puerto libre.La velocidad de transferencia es muy buena, en Linux con discos externos USB 3.0 se alcanzan fácilmente 170 MB/s, con memorias USB 3.0 he visto hasta 100 MB/s, y con memorias USB 2.0 30 MB/s, todas tasas sostenidas de escritura en transferencia de respaldos.Los puertos son rápidos incluso siendo usados de forma simultánea. Soportan discos externos 2.5" que no tienen alimentación adicional. No están diseñados para carga rápida de dispositivos móviles.

batalle un poco para instalarla pero ya esta trabajando, bien, y el que me mando el producto es muy responsable lo recomiendo

La compre por el bajo precio en que se ofrece y ademas que tiene 4 puertos USB version 2 los cuales son de tranmision de datos a muy alta velocidad lo he probado con memorias USB samsung de 128G copia a una velocidad excelente por precio y calidad le doy un 9.5/100 el .5 es por que el cable que se conecta a la fuente no es de buena calidad compre uno para no tener problemas tabaja muy bien en mi pc con procesador XEON workstation DELL precision T7500

Lo mejor cuatro puertos mas a un excelente precio, ademas que esta viene con su cable adaptador para alimentación de energía, lo cual es un gran plus, ya que otras que vi y he tenido no vienen con ese cable.La tarjeta esta genial, al darte mas puertos usb3.0 o el darte la capacidad de tenerlos si tu tarjeta madre no tenia de fabrica, en windows 10 es detectada automáticamente sin necesidad de instalar los drives del mini cd.El envío rápido como de construmbre y en perfecto estado, una compra garantizada y un muy buen producto.

Este producto lo compre para poder conectar en mi PC las gafas de realidad virtual de Oculus Rift ya que pide bastantes USB 3.0 para funcionar, el producto es bastante bueno y no he tenido problemas de ningún tipo con el, solo lo instale y listo, lo uso en una PC con Windows 10, trae lo que se ve en la imagen y todo funciona correctamente, por supuesto que te va a servir para cualquier cosa como discos duros externos y cualquier otro dispositivo USB, también es compatible con USB 2.0 .
