Ultimate Seam Guide

I bought one for my new machine andI love it. Now I'm going to buy one for my older machine since it doesn't have guides. i think it'll probably work even better.

It is OK if you don't have to remove it everytime you change the bobbin. I think it is better suited for a table for cutting instead of a sewing machine. I will order the one that comes in a film that you can mold to the sewing machine instead.

I have a machine with a textured surface, so the cling type guide doesn't work for me. This seam guide is a hard plastic with a good amount of flex. It has to be fastened to the machine bed and I chose to use blue painter's tape instead of the adhesive included. My machine is a Pfaff and the storage tray and bobbin access are on the front. Rather than remove and replace this every time I needed to get into the bobbin or storage, I chose to place it then use a sharp utility knife to cut it along the lines of the machine. I carefully taped along all of the edges so it doesn't catch on anything or move around. It took some work to get everything placed correctly, but once I did, I loved it.

I found the seam guide huge and complicated to read.....and then if you have a bottom loading bobbin this must be removed. I need something a little simpler or a U-tube video to appreciate this product.....I thought it would simplify my diagonal piecing.....NOT!

My sewing machine is black and I can't see the markings. I should have thought about this before I purchased it. I'm sure it would work better on a white colored machine.
