The Deluxe book 4 sets me into a little depression phase, Griffiths physical form with his reckless choices leading his downfall, imprisonment, and the Hawks desperate struggle to survive. It's the one volume that ends where the story shifts into it's darkest phase.

Berserk is one of the greatest adult manga of all times and this is where the tempo of the series really starts ramping up. The series has always been dark, bloody and violent, but the horror and fantastical elements get dialled up significantly, likewise there is a lot more nudity. Vol4 marks the beginning of the end for the 'Hawk' arc, ending at a pivotal cliffhanger during 'the festival', you'll be horrified, disgusted and enthralled, you'll also be preordering book 5. As always, the deluxe editions are expensive but worth every penny. The thick black covers, gorgeous art and thick paper is the definitive way to collect this manga. As always, highly recommended. Ps - all the books have been 'not for kids' this one is 'extremely not for kids'

Got this book as a Christmas present for my nephew, it must be good as he’s asked me for the same book (previous volumes) for the past 3 years! It looks pretty cool. Very big and heavy hardback. Definitely not a bedtime read as you’d knock yourself out if you dropped it on your head.
