Nice screwdrivers, delivered promptly

This isn't really a set of screw drivers, it's a hodgepodge. Some of the drivers are stamped on the wood handle with crown shefffield England, some are stamped crown Sheffield made in England, some have stickers applied, some say nothing. Fit and finish is mediocre. Two drivers arrived with rust on them. At this price point my quality expectations were much higher than received.

I was very reluctant to order this set of screwdrivers because of the only posted review being so negative. I have no idea what that reviewer's experiences were, other than what he wrote, but mine were completely positive. I have seen the screwdriver set on a number of occasions and wanted to buy them, but they are fairly expensive by comparison to other brands I have purchased and tend to be more specialized in application. What I received today from Amazon was a well-made and well-finished set that look exactly like the other sets of the Crown cabinet screwdrivers I have seen over time. Hand tools like these are not made to the same degree of precision and finish as hand tools from the past. A Stanley plane made today does not compare to the quality of those made a century ago. But by current hand tool standards, these screwdrivers are exceptional. This set of Crown's compare to past cabinet screwdrivers in much the same way that current Stanley 750 chisels compare to those made in the early 1900s.If anyone wonders whether you will receive what you ordered and saw in the pictures, I can tell you that I did and expect you will too. The other review that has been posted may have been accurate for that one customer, but it does a great disservice to those of us who would like to purchase this set of screwdrivers yet worry about what we will get. I'm very happy so far with my purchase. I fully anticipate the performance of the screwdrivers to live up to my expectations and the experiences of other people I know who bought the same set from different sellers.

They are well made.

Probably not the same as a vintage set but still very nicely made and work well.
