Craftsman 299-piece Ultimate Easy Read Socket Set

the vendor shipped me a craftsman socket set that had apparently been bought by someone else before me, then used for a while, and then returned to the vendor. the laser etching is all but eroded on a handful of the sockets, and some sockets were still greasy from somebody's garage repair. several sockets were missing (the 9, 10, and 11 mm deep six point 3/8" sockets), but that was partially offset by the inclusion of a bonus 21 mm socket in the same set that wasn't listed on the included parts list. i'm not inclined to return them -- they weigh a ton, plus i can live with the set as is. i'm disturbed by a general trend of vendors shipping used goods when their customers expect new stuff; this is not the first time this has happened to me. i'm very impressed, but not positively.

The quality of Craftsman tools has dramatically decreased in recent years and this socket set is a perfect example of what outsourcing to China does to quality. I bought this set to supplement my original Made in the USA set and when compared side-by-side, the differences are notable and disappointing. The original USA made sockets are labeled with laser etching that can actually be read and the Chinese made sockets “Laser etching” is barely visible and extremely difficult to read. Thank goodness the Chinese version is backed up with stamping on the bottom identifying the size, because it would otherwise be impossible to tell with some of the sockets I received. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the sockets as compared to previous sets of sockets. Functionally, I am hoping the sockets hold up as compared to my older set, but only time will tell. Oh what I would pay to buy good ole American made Craftsman tools again....Save your money and buy a quality set of American made tools!

Did not come with all the sizes as advertised there were sae in the and vise versa

I Ordered this on May 26 2020 and didn’t get delivered till June 11 2020 ad claims 299 piece socket set I paid $876.59This order is Incomplete only 129 pieces of random sockets I need refund is this a joke or something!

Likes -package was good quality laser etched and engraved sizing and craftsman these are initial impressions I have not used or inspected quality yet but updates to come

This set comes in its own chest. That seemed like a bonus, I did not know about the case when ordered. Was afraid that craftsman tools may not be sold in the future. Well built like always. Looks like all sizes are covered

It's as described, they are made in China printed right on the box.. I've been using Craftsman hand tools my entire life most of them given to me by my dad.. The quality isn't even comparable to the old Made In USA sockets, the steel is different or something now.. Craftsman was just as good as Snap On or Mac back in it's day, now the quality just isn't there anymore especially their ratchets.. I bought this set because I've lost a lot of my old sockets and wanted a complete matching set, and this is... Just disappointed in the Quality now..

Product was new condition and packed in bags according to point and drive size. On the box it was clearly marked Sears Made in China....😩. Some etchings of the socket sizes were faint St best while some were really nice and dark. Not very consistent but tolerable. Good buy
