Must have for garden
This is my first year vegetable garden and using smart pots. The pots work great for me as a renter plus I can move the smaller ones around to sun/shade. The vegetables growing in smart pots are twice as large and better producers than the ones I am growing in traditional clay pots. It rained alot this summer but because the pots are fabric the plants never sat in waterlogged pot and I had no issue with rotting roots. The pots seem durable so I am hoping for many years of use. I have tomatoes growing in 5 and 7 gallon pots and they are doing well in both sizes. I filled with mix of coconut coir, potting soil and compost blend from garden store. I plan to buy more for next year. I did purchase a 10 gallon and big bag bed and also have good results but cannot move them around due to size and weight.

Not yet used, but seems sturdy + update a year later!
Ordered this because I was curious about the construction, and no one around here sells 'em. The stitching is very well done. I will certainly use it. UPDATE: I grew some enormous (Brawny man fist - sized) potatoes on a north-facing balcony in southern California using this container. I suppose its advantage is that it helps keep the soil aerated? However, because it is a 100% fabric container, the soil will dry out very very quickly. When I grew the potatoes, I decided to place this container onto a plastic drip pan, letting the pan act as a bit of a water reservoir for the container. Bingo-potatoes!

Perfect.
Have two dwarf fruit trees in these pots; will be purchasing more to put more trees in next year. This does require a little more watering than plastic pots, but since it's impossible to overwater, I don't mind at all. After a year of sitting outside in the sun, rain, and wind, they still look nice. No fading, coming apart, or other issues.

What is Important to You
After using these for over a month I thought it was time to share my experience. Since these are fabric, they have a more slouching look than regular pots. The final shape of the will depend on how you fill the pot, did you keep the bottom flat and the sides straight? The fabric isn't stiff so the tops of mine have a slight ruffled look, which I personally like. I have used these for a hydrangea and two blueberry bushes so far. All three are doing pretty well. I think when I researched these I came away with this idea that they would drain and retain moisture better than standard pots. They drain well, however, if you are good about insuring your regular pots have proper drainage, there really isn't any significant difference in the amount of time the soil seems to take to drain. As far as moisture, I imagine the difference would be dependent on the type of pots you use, sun and heat response. Based on my current experience, I plan to use the rest of the Smart Pots I have in my first container garden for tomatoes, bell peppers, and zucchini.

... help protect from root bruising but this I'd a great product. My plants have been growing non stop
I wish there was a plastic pot to come along with the fabric pot to help protect from root bruising but this I'd a great product. My plants have been growing non stop. I can't see if there's any root bounding but I'm sure there's not. Be aware that these pots are not as tall as the average plastic pots are (if you have a 3 gallon plastic pot)

I am sure this works like all the other fabric smart pots out there
I am sure this works like all the other fabric smart pots out there, but I obviously didn't pay enough attention that there is only ONE in the package! Every other one I have bought comes in a package of 5. I was too quick to purchase this one on my phone and didn't realize my mistake until I opened it. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! You can get 5 of these from other sellers for $11.95, DO NOT PAY $7.95 for ONE! The fabric smart pots are all the same, they air trim the roots, plants grow great in them.

I would recommend GEO Pots I bought both to compare and the geo pots have handles and I can not rip the fabric on a geo pot this smart pot I can rip and the tag has no size info so after you use the pot next season you have no way of telling what size it is. Geo Pots have it right on the fabric tag. I thought that was brilliant. I am not paid or nothing I just was new to fabric pots and well Geo Pots have different sizes and short pots and handles. Just check them out first before you buy. I had to go off of amazon to get them but worth it.

Perfect!
Love it! Works great for a first time veggie gardener. Easy to move around. I also bought the Gardman USA R161 Rolling Plant Caddy to set this on. Works great for my pepper and tomato plants. Well worth the money and no plastic. Reusable. Breathable for the plant and drains adequately. It pays to snoop on Amazon.. lots of inventive things and at reasonable prices. Thanks Amazon and the makers of this ingenous product!
