Great Socket Set
Although, to be honest, I have not used them yet, I also bought the 14 piece metric socket set, which is the same thing. I used the metric set a lot. These seem to be well made sockets, and I love the case the sockets came in. These are thin walled socket, but they are made of better metal. These sockets are so pretty, you are almost afraid to get them dirty. These sockets look like show pieces. I also agree with other reviews, I wish the sizes were engraved in the sockets. I am afraid the size will wear off the sticker. You do not have all the size skips with the SAE socket sets like you have with the metric socket sets. They do skip the 1-3/16 socket though. I needed it to take off my mower blades, so I also bought the 5 piece Tekton 4886 1/2" Drive Deep Impact Socket Set. It has the 1-3/16 through 1-1/2" (minus the 1-1/4" which is in every socket set). I recently bought the Ingersoll Rand 18v impact wrench. It is so strong (1,100 lbs nut busting) that I was afraid it would break my cheap Harbor Freight impact socket set. Since these are the twin set to the metric socket set, and I have taken off some tough nuts and bolts, I hope these socket sets will last years, if not a lifetime.

Great sockets for the price
Have used these a lot an come in handy for deep spots normal sockets can't get or a bolt sticking way out an normal socket can't reach the nut. Hold up great on the impact gun. Have put these to the test breaking old rusty nuts lose. Great quality an look great too. The sizes wear off the side of you use them an rub them against something but the case they come in have the sizes on there slot if you can't tell. I have put these on a metal rail because it's what I prefer. I would recommend these. Great product an can not beat the price for the quality that compares to snap on or Mac. Will Proble buy the metric set to go along with these one of these days since I like them so much.Product description Ingersoll Rand Impact Sockets are built to handle your toughest high-torque applications. Great set for the Pro or Novice
This is a nice set. I used to sell tools and these are pretty goodquality for this day and age. Yeah some of the older stuff is still better. But for new these are a good deal. No missing sizes like many setsout there. Sizes over an "inch" that one would have to buy in addition toto the cost of the set and a great case. I've read some don't like the etching.Well IMO if you put your tools away after use with this set it's kinda hard notto know what the size is even if the #'s are warn off.Take care of your tools your tools will take care of you !!!!

This is a review after a year of use
"I have not tried this product yet, but" Yeah, I am dumbfounded by those reviews as well. Well here's a review of actual use. As far as impact sockets go, these are not ridiculously thick which is nice. They're also quite tough, High torque, frequent use, for long periods of time. I've even used some in my press to push out bearings on multiple occasions because some sockets were just the size I needed, took a hammer to a few stubborn ones, yeah there tough. My problem here is the size labeling. This black paint comes right off when the socket is rubbing on anything while spinning, it doesn't really chip, mind you, it just wears off. And when the paint wears off, there is no impression or texture on the socket to show the size. I have 3 out of this set alone that I can no longer distinguish through the label. It's a shame really, good sockets that could last for years, but you're forced to buy new sockets out of frustration. i know we get what we pay for, but these are on the bottom of that scale. There are other impact sockets out there of similar quality and price that have the sizes pounded into them that will be a much better investment than this marketing scheme. I'm willing to bet, at Ingersoll Rand, there are too many office people, and not enough hands on experienced employees in the decision making process. The end user was hardly considered in a product made for the end user.

Exactly what was advertised.
The product seems to be very good quality. I have used it on a couple of occasions. The price was a little high but I would definitely purchase it again.

These are awesome!
These are very sturdy, and have worked absolutely flawlessly, the case is built very well holding the sockets firmly, but also lightly enough and with enough room at the ends to easily fit even a gloved hand in to pop them out. I have used most of the sockets, for mower blades, driving lag bolts, and rusted caliper bracket bolts, but mostly the 3/4 for lug nuts. They fit everything very snugly without any wiggle room witch can be annoying on some rustier bolts, but I haven't found one I couldn't fit it onto. Altogether I consider this to be a very good buy, and I plan to also get a set in metric at some point as well.

Nice, but maybe overkill for a lot of folks
I'm giving this product five stars, because it's a fantastic set of sockets. You can tell you're dealing with quality tools as soon as you open the case and lift one out. Beautifully machined, easy to read the sizes, very nice case -- what more could you want? However, they're also way more than most homeowners will need. If you really just need a good starter set of impact ready drivers, including deep sockets for the standard sizes of 3/8", 1/2" and 9/16", then you're better off getting something like the DEWALT DW2169 38-Piece Impact Driver Ready Accessory Set . The Ingersoll Rands are for more serious DIYers and pros. The DeWalt has everything most folks will need in one quality, inexpensive, highly portable set.

These work as well as the more expensive counterparts. Yes the labels wear out quick but I just keep them on a socket organizer with labels on the organizer.
