Loyeenha 4.7" 12CM Audio Optical to HDMI Output Adapter for SONOS Beam OPADPWW1BLK

I am VERY, VERY, VERY happy with this adapter 😁 Both of my TV's only have a digital optical audio output so the only option I had to connect my brilliant Sony SRS-ZR5 speakers was to use the audio output from my TV providers set-top-box which was inexplicably only a RCA component output 🤯 REALLY?!? I don't own anything that uses RCA cables and the audio quality is a big step down. This would also mean that when I used Chromecast or my Blu-ray player, which connect directly to my TV, that I would only get my TV's built-in speakers which are only so-so and not room filling with deep bass and crisp treble, denying me the audio experience Sony can give me. That's where this precious adapter comes in. All I needed was a single, spare HDMI cable to take advantage of the HDMI ARC input on the ZR5 speakers and since they are able to wirelessly pair with each other in stereo, I only needed to connect the primary and the other seamlessly does it's job without the mess and expense of a second HDMI cable and the requisite HDMI splitter which would only reproduce single audio stereo and not true stereo.I was a little concerned about the quality of both the cable and the audio quality I would get from a brand I've never heard of BUT I am pleasantly surprised and could not be happier. Now I have the audio experience I wanted...high quality audio from all of my video, audio and internet inputs (cable, Chromecast with my Android phone and Windows PC, Bluetooth, Blu-ray, Google Home/Assistant...all without having to upgrade either my TV or my speakers to get it. It only took this beautiful little adapter.Sorry if this sounded like an ad for either this adapter or the Sony speakers but I'm in love with this setup right now and haven't received a penny or any devices to review, free or otherwise, from Loyeenha or Sony. This review was 100% independent and all me.

If you think you can use the device to pull the audio from the optical output from your TV to your receiver, I got bad news for you it won’t work. It’d be great if it did but sometimes life ain’t easy.

Worked perfectly with my sonos AMP. Current tv doesn’t have HDMI ARC so this converts the optical to the sonos HDMI ARC Input.

So this is an update to my last review. My wife purchased this item but really did not realise it was only for sonos beam. So we returned the item and the company was a good sport about it. Thank you Loyeen.

This product looked like it would solve my two controls issue for my tv and my soundbar. However, I never made it to work; not sure if it was my tv's fault, my soundbar's faul, but I spent a whole afternoon trying to make it work until I surrendered. I returned this because if you don't have an optic input in your tv it might work, but I just didn't make it work for my use case.

Had to return product due to my mistake. Everything else was excellent!

Nice looking cable works well.
