Very Comfortable!!
A friend of mine had this seat in his kayak. I asked him about it and he let me try it in mine.It fits perfectly in our kayak seats and when I sat on it I felt like I was sitting in a lounge chair! It is really comfortable! It's also light weight, folds in half and is easily packed in the car. (It evenhas a carrying handle and a pocket in the back for magazines or a book.) I used it on my recent 4 daykayaking trip and it was wonderful. I even turned on another kayaking friend to it and she is goingto buy one. I love it!!

Nice and light. Easy to pack and comfortable to sit in
Took it on a rafting trip down the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon. Easy to clean and packed thinly in our luggage. Very nice to have some back support on a 18 day expedition!

Gives back support but don't expect padding
I love getting the back support but a half inch of padding on the bottom would really help out. I often bring a small gardening pad made to kneel on.

Surprisingly comfortable.
Surprisingly comfortable! I've used this a couple times now at the park, and it is surprisingly comfortable to sit in for a couple hours. Way better than sitting on the ground and easily portable on the subway which most chairs wouldn't be.

For the price, it's OK, but buy a Crazy Creek if you can!
Let's put it this way, I bought a Crazy Creek over 20 years ago and it is still in amazing condition.I used this chair for a few days it already showed signs of wear and tear.Crazy Creeks are about $55 and will seriously last a lifetime. I found one of these used for $20. My guess is that if I didn't return it, that I'd have to replace it every couple of years. Not only that, but comfort wise, the Crazy Creek is way more comfortable. The padding here is not very good and it doesn't continue all the way through the seat. At the seam where the chair folds in half you have NO PADDING! Sure, it "makes sense" to fold better, but Crazy Creek manages to keep the padding in that crucial spot on your rear.If you're strapped for cash, this is an option. But I can't recommend it when there's a far superior product available on the market.

Not ideal for a canoe.
A typical canoe seat measures 11 to 12" front-to-back. The ALPS is 15" between the mounting straps at the ends of rigid pieces along the outside edges of the seat bottom, so it easily slides back (and you'll be sitting on the rear wood support of the canoe seat) or forward (creating uneasiness when leaning back). When the lower straps are tightened more to get around that, the back pulls down and under the canoe seat. At that point, it's secure, but the back cannot be properly adjusted unless you disconnect its adjusting straps, wrap them under and around the front support of the canoe seat, and reconnect them - at least that's what I did to get thru a recent 4-day canoe trip in a 17' Wenonah. Having said all that, I give the Weekender 2 stars: 4 for what appears to be good material, construction, and design (for a stadium bench seat) and zero as a canoe seat.
