Beautiful and they work with partial shade
Beautiful lights! I purchased these to replace a set of electric lights that came with my house. I lined my driveway with them, and they work amazingly well! My driveway is partially shaded, but I haven't had any problems with them getting a good charge during the day. They have a lovely, ambient, soft bluish-white light. It's not overpowering, but it's a very peaceful-looking light. They lights definitely stay on until dawn. I love looking out and seeing these lights.

Must have been a loose connection or bad contact with the battery or something
When I first set these up (I bought 2 packs of 2 lights, for 4 total lights), one light didn't appear to be working. On a whim, I opened it up. I'm not even entirely sure what I did, but it started working again. Must have been a loose connection or bad contact with the battery or something. In any event it works fine now.I really like these lights. The frosted plastic gives off a nice, even glow. The light is relatively bright, but its a single LED bulb running off solar power. Its more for marking location and mark than brightly illuminating an large area. It looks nice and it makes it easier to see the stairs leading to my door are at night, and that's what I wanted. They certainly could be brighter, but then they wouldn't last as long as they do (they've stayed on past any time I'd be going to bed so far, so that's great)I do wish it didn't have the manufacturers name printed on the frosted plastic. I turned them to the back and don't even notice that now. But still, its tacky.Overall, I can recommend these lights for people looking for path lighting. If you need to illuminate in a way that shows a lot of detail or illuminates a wide area, you'll want to get lights powered off your mains, not solar powered.

The one that works is great..of course now its no returnable :(
One works, one does not work. the one that does not work seems to require complete darkness to switch on at night i.e if I put my hand over the sensor it switches on, otherwise it stays off. The one that works is great....Update 5 days later, now both lights don't work and of course its out of warranty by 8 days.Don't waste your money.

Good lights, good for indoor nightlights
So far they work good. The light could be a little brighter, but I only use them to find my way at night, not to really see things in detail. They light up every night at dark, and sometimes I bring one or 2 inside and put them in my indoor plants as night lights. I have a southern exposure with bright, direct sun most of the day (about 11-13 daytime hours in Boston, MA in June) and they stay lit all night, even when it is overcast. I don't know how well they would work with less sunlight. I think they work with sunlight coming through a window as well, so they are very useful as indoor nightlights.

Doesn't last very long
I had bought 8 of these lights and initially they worked well. Not very bright but did the job. However these don't last long. I've had them for about 7 months and 4 of them has failed already. I've noticed that the tops tend to get frosty over time and that might be blocking the sun and not allowing the solar panel to charge the battery. I was able to polish the tops to clear the frost and replaced the rechargeable batteries but the lights still didn't work.I can't return them to Amazon so i'm left with some decorative stumps.

Works excellent. Test before placing in the ground.
Very nice style. You must not push the entire unit into the ground: push the stake in first, then insert the lighting unit. One unit did not work, but after disassembling it, I cleaned the battery contacts and it works perfectly. This was a new from the manufacturer pair...not sure why one had bad contacts.

These are great lights: bright and light up and stay lit ...
I've put frost fire solar lights in my garden to highlight my roses and larger potted plants. These are great lights: bright and light up and stay lit nearly all night. It's a cool white light, not a yellow light like many other solar lights. They sit closer to the ground so that you don't see anything other than the light. A great clean modern look.

Attractive design with a bright evenly distributed light output
These solar lights have an elegant design and I was really quite impressed with the light output, they are by far the brightest I have had to date. I was concerned the frosted lens would limit the amount of light. I find that the frosted lens helps to diffuse and evenly distribute the light output. Most solar lights leave odd shapes and do a poor job of light distribution, not these. I find that the lights stay on the entire night and seem every bit as bright even towards daybreak. The only thing preventing me from giving these a 5 star rating is the top cap must be removed to allow access to the battery compartment. There is a plastic tab that must be pulled to allow battery contact within the unit so it can be charged and the light to work. The top cap was so snug on some of these that I was on the verge of cracking the frosted lens. I didn't but I bet I am not the only one to experience this problem.
