Comprehensive Reference Work for the Work of Takashi Amano
I've been more than a fan of Takashi Amano since I first cracked open a copy of Nature Aquarium World at Old Town Aquarium in Chicago back in the 80's as a kid. I've always said (to the few who would listen) that my life long love of aquaria will always fall into two phases - before and after I opened that book. I went from cheesy plastic plants and failed attempts at salt water to striving for freshwater planted aquariums with an eye for Japanese design. This book is simply as promised. His collected works in one book. The photos are well reproduced as is worthy of his gifts as a photographer and the preeminent aquascape designer.A reference I will return to for as long as I continue to strive for his level of mastery. I will never attain it, but it's a goal worth striving for.RIP Amano-Sama

Great Inspirational Guide For Aquascaping
This book is beautiful, well produced and inspiring. The wonderful Aquascapes on display in the book, created by Amano, are some of the best out there. Full page, full color and great printing are bolstered by informative text specifying what went into each tank pictured. I used this book as inspiration for my own tank and found myself going back to it again and again to get new ideas or simply enjoy what Amano is presenting here. Essential book for anyone interested in Aquariums and more importantly Aquascaping.

Great book for the budding aquascaper
It is a tribute to the now fallen aquascape pioneer Takashi Amano.Great book for the budding aquascaper, providing not only inspiration on what's possible, but enough technical detail to be helpful as well. It is NOT a manual, nor full of technical information. However, each picture of an Amano tank has the technical data next to it, showing what plants were used, what fish/inverts are in the tank, CO2 level, lighting used and at what level. I thoroughly enjoyed it and refer to it frequently.

Beautiful book!
I loved this book. It gave me so many ideas to use on my planted tanks, and people love going through it while visiting. Almost every page is 1/2 - 3/4 full of pictures of Takashi Amano planted aquariums. The only drawback is that, if you have poor eyesight, it may be a little difficult to actually read. The printing is probably .5 or .6 font. I can't really complain about that. If the writing was larger, the pictures would be smaller, or the book would be quite over-sized. The book gives some insight into Amano's mind, and each photo is accompanied by a list of the species of plants and fish pictured.
