Excellent headset for music poor noice cancelling
Hands down this is the best headset I have for in-home listening to music (in comparison to Grado sr80i, Bose QC15, and Bose AE2). At home in a fairly quiet environment, I found the Paradigm H15NC to shine. The deep base response without the NC feature activated outshines the Bose QC15, Bose AE, and the Grado SR80i headsets, so much so that at home, I now use the Paradigm headset for my normal listening. When comparing music by a range of artists, I found that I had to increase the volume on the Bose QC15, while the quality of the sound was much better at even lower volumes on the Paradigm headset. I have no doubt that for my normal listening pleasure I would be continuing to use the Paradigm headset. However, when activating the NC feature at home in the presence of a fan, there was no discernible difference in the sound with or without the NC activation. Without any music playing I could still hear the sound of the fan with the NC active, somewhat attenuated, compared with the NC off.On an 8-hr and a 12-hr flight, the noise cancelling feature was a major disappointment. On both flights, I had the headset on for at least a 2-hour stretch and then on intermittently. The very low rumblings of the engine was removed when the NC feature was active, however, much of the engine noise was NOT removed. The NC was a bit better near the front of the plane, while it was worse from the middle to the rear of the plane. Listening to music on the flight was terrible with the NC feature activated. The bottom line is that the engineers at Paradigm dropped the ball on the NC feature. It appears that no one from Paradigm took this headset on a flight to check or figure out to what extent the cabin noise was reduced. Although I complained to Paradigm regarding this problem, no one from Paradigm bothered to respond - which is a shame, as I respect this company as all of my speakers at home are all Paradigm. The Bose QC15 outshines when it comes to noise cancelling on long flights. This was not even a close match. I cannot emphasize my disappointment with the Paradigm H15NC. One saving grace was that the Paradigm headset was not uncomfortable to wear for the entire 2-hour stretch that I listened on the flight. If your primary interest is in noise cancelling and using a headset on flights, then go with Bose QC15 (don't bother going with any other brand). If you plan to listen to music at home, the Paradigm H15NC is a great choice. I rarely use my Bose QC15 to listen to music at home.

Great sound, no noise canceling
I love Paradigm products. I own too many to count and that is why I decided to get these headphones. The sound and comfort are incredible. The best sounding headphones I currently own. The biggest disappointment is the noise canceling because there is none. I bought these to use while traveling for work and they are worthless on a plane. They are unusable. If you are in your home without distractions these are incredible, just do not buy for noise cancelling purposes.

Expensive, but worth every penny
I bought these because I have Paradigm Reference speakers in my home, and they are unsurpassed as home theatre and stereo music speakers.I also have high frequency hearing loss which makes it difficult to understand words as I cannot distinguish between many consonants. I spend a lot of my day on my phone and I get tired of saying "Can you repeat that?"These headphones have solved that problem entirely. Talking on the phone is a delight again.Plus, I'm stunned at the separation and clarity of these headphones while listening to music. CSNY have become a new band to me! I have not had them long enough to have tested the noise-cancelling feature much, but I can't imagine it not being as stellar as the music/phone performance. If you can afford them, buy them.

The good, the bad and the truly bad.
I received a pair of the H15NC headphones for use in studio. The good: detachable cord & rechargeable battery. Great sound. Also, they function perfectly without using the noise cancellation. The bad: Noise cancellation isn't very good at all. When activated it seems as if they simply boost the gain. Fortunately, I have little use for NC in studio. The truly bad: They break. The pair I was given broke within 2 months. The headband cracked just left of the center point rendering them useless since they wouldn't stay on. To their credit, Paradigm replaced them. Those broke as well in the same place within a few months of use on the job. My partner's pair are showing stress cracks on the headband as well. I applied duct tape rather than toss them because I really like the sound. But Paradigm never responded to my emails the second time around time. I chose not to call again either. For $299 durability under normal use should be part of the features. I'm grateful I didn't pay for them.

H15nc one of the very best ...
Fantastic sound and comfort. Slightly bass heavy. Engaging noise cancelling does not affect fidelity (only effects very low frequencies). Extremely long battery life.

Great Headphones
Amazing sound, feel great, look well made, comfortable... my new favorite headphones. Better than my old Sennheiser 650s. Definitely recommend.

Superior sound to Bose Quiet Comfort 25
I bought these on sale for my wife. The sound in a head to head with Quiet Comfort 25 is unquestionably superior in the Paradigm. The padding and build comfort is also remarkable. They seem extremely sturdy. I haven't gone head to head with Noise Canceling. I love the Bose in this regard, can't imagine better. But the Bose sound quality is dull, flat, lifeless compared to the Paradigm listening to either AC/DC or Copeland.Addendum: I tested the Paradigm Shift noise reduction in comparison to Quiet Comfort 25. Quiet Comfort is better and diminishes surrounding white noise across a greater frequency range versus the Paradigm Shift. Some of this is due to electronic canceling, but a significant difference is also due to the cupped style of ear piece. Of note, the Paradigm ear cup with memory foam is more comfortable when listening over longer periods.Paradigm: much better sound, more comfortable, acceptable NCBose Quiet Comfort: better NC, acceptable sound and comfort
