This Stuff Works!!!
For years here in the mid-Atlantic (Virginia), I've had problems with chickweed and various other weeds growing over the winter season. After doing AI research, I discovered Meso4 SC. It works! It doesn't kill the grass -- it just kills the weeds. Here's what I did ... I bought a one gallon sprayer and added one teaspoon of Meso (with the use of the syringe that comes with the product) to one gallon of water. I shook it well and pumped the sprayer about a dozen times to ensure a good fine spray. I tested the spray on the sidewalk and then I proceeded to spot-spray each cluster of chickweed and other weeds. In the photos below, you can see the resulting yellowish-white spots in the lawn. Within days, the weeds were wilting and the surrounding grass turned a bit lighter, but the lawn didn't otherwise suffer. After a week or so, I mowed the lawn and it's just about perfect. After another mowing or two, it will be as green as ever. At this rate, this 8-ounce bottle should last for years. It's so refreshing when something works as advertised and is as easy to use as this.

Excellent selective herbicide!
I bought this to eliminate weeds without harming our Buffalograss lawn. It’s very concentrated, so you have to mix it yourself in a sprayer- but that makes it an incredible value. I finally ran out of my first bottle, after about 5 years of use! The concentrate keeps fine, but once mixed you should use it quickly. I recommend adding a surfactant and dye, which will help it stick to the plants and show you where you’ve sprayed, which helps you save energy and supplies. It really feels like magic- it won’t harm the grass, but in a few days the weeds begin to lighten and eventually turn white and die!

On St Augustine vs oxalis: yes
Okay, I've had a very tough lawn problem which, because I live in So. California, has been almost impossible to solve. The oxalis (kind of clover with little yellow flowers) has been coming in every winter and it has gotten so bad that you really can't see the St Augustine anymore. It all dies back by about April or May, but blocking the sunlight all winter is really done a terrible number on the grass. Anyway I finally decided I would try to get rid of it by whatever means necessary, except that most herbicides you can apply to St Augustine aren't available in California, and most of the things that are available in California you can't apply to St Augustine or don't kill oxalis. You see the catch 22 there? So this product says you really shouldn't apply it to St Augustine either, unless it's being grown "at a sod farm". Well that's puzzling to me I don't really get it, so I decided to take the risk cause I didn't have much to lose. I think the risk is it may turn your grass white. But that seems to be a temporary thing and the grass can come back. At any rate I sprayed it on at a point in Feb. at which you could really only see all the oxalis anyway. I hadn't mowed the lawn and at least 8 weeks to let the oxalis grow up above the grass. I tried not to get too much on the grass itself. About 3 weeks after the first application the oxalis had withered and turned kind of a yellow color but it was still there. So as directed I put on a second application. About 3 weeks after that and the oxalis is pretty well gone. So even though on the second application I got probably more of the product on the grass, the grass really wasn't harmed too much. It kind of is a bit on the pale side but not white, and even that is now starting to disappear and a deeper green is forming. It's been probably five weeks after the second application and the lawn is really looking great and there's very very few weeds of any kind in it. Pretty thrilled. So my basic message is, if you have St Augustine and you're at your wit's end you might as well try this even though the label says it's not a great idea. I really looked all over the Internet and couldn't find a good answer to this question.

Works just like Tenacity for MUCH LESS $
I used Tenacity for the first time in 2018, and the results were negligible. I'm sure it had something to do with my inexperience and fear of using too much. However, the next time (earlier this 2019 year), I used more with the same results. I ended up using all of it on my .37 acres. I needed more, but the price went from $65-ish to OVER $112! No way was I going to pay that! I searched and found this Meso 4 that has the same ingredients, and I'm glad I did. It worked better (for me) than Tenacity. I'm not saying Tenacity does not work, but this worked like everyone described Tenacity should have worked for me; at a price I can deal with. Reviews are complaining about not receiving a syringe like Tenacity. Well, I didn't get one when I purchased this, nor the Tenacity, so it was a non-issue for me. I still have the syringe I previously bought. Why don't those reviewers still have theirs?
