Timberkits Double Bass Player Automata

Extremely charming model. The motion is complex however, and exact placement is a bit "just so" to achieve good character in the movement. One star off for a hole drilled upside-down in one of the bass body sections. Naughty naughty. If you happen to be the kind of person who has a 3mm drill bit handy, this can be overcome pretty easily.

This item was delivered as expected within the given time. I have previously made the Piano player and the Drummer from the Timberkits range so decided that this would be my next addition to "the band". After finding the previous ones reasonably easy to construct I found the Double Bass player not so easy. The instructions were not as clear as the others and I had to dismantle it to adjust some of the parts which were not fitting correctly. If you are considering trying the Timberkits do not let this put you off - they are great fun to put together. Maybe try the others first.

bought for my husband at Christmas and he enjoyed making this - it is a little fiddly(no pun) but slow but sure he made it and it works perfectly. As I have said on another review - we just need the piano player to make up the band !!!

I If you broke these wood parts whilst making this model you be very strong or determined. I enjoyed making the Double Bass Player it put the grey matter at work agaIn and kept me busy, quiet and , apart from the odd expletive , satisfied of a high quality finish

Nice quality kit with easy to follow instructions which resulted in a brilliant automaton. It was a gift for my husband and he loved it .

A couple of errors in the guide led to a mis-stuck piece and now an unfinished item! The other timberkits have been fab but so disappointing to get this one wrong! Do NOT stick any piece until you have made it all first roughly and you are completely ready to finish!

Diese animierte Musikerfigur oder „Automaton“ spielt Kontrabass. Es handelt sich um einen Bausatz mit über 100 präzise gefertigten Holzteilen. Ohne Kunststoff auch in der Verpackung. Die Qualität des Holzes ist hervorragend. Bei diesem Modell sind einige Teile ziemlich klein und werden sortiert und nummeriert sowie aufgeklebt in der Schachtel präsentiert. Obwohl die 27-seitige Anleitung auf Englisch verfasst ist, sind die Diagramme selbsterklärend und klar. Im Lieferumfang enthalten sind auch eine Tube Holzkleber, ein Millimeter-Lineal aus Papier, Schleifpapier, Klebeschutzschablone und ein Wachsstift. Der Zusammenbau erfordert etwas Fingerfertigkeit und dauerte mehrere Nachmittage: 10 Stunden Montagezeit, zzgl. Feineinstellung und Lackierung bzw. Politur. Auf der Website (u. YouTube) gibt es Videotipps für die genaueren Einstellungen. Wenn Sie einen einfacheren Bausatz möchten, versuchen Sie es mit dem Gitarrenspieler oder dem Flötenspielerin von Timberkits. Ich sammle die Musikerbausätze, der Schlagzeuger und der Pianist sind auch spektakulär. Jedes Mal, wenn ich diese lustigen Figuren sehe, zaubert es mir ein Lächeln ins Gesicht. Jeder Vorbeigänger möchte versuchen, die Figuren durch Drehen der Kurbel zum Leben zu erwecken. Die dazugehörige Musik können Sie selbst artikulieren oder mitsingen.
