Outstanding product
My 2006 Tacoma had a prop rod for the hood and it got in the way all the time. Ordered the hood shock kit and I love them. Very simple to install and they work perfectly, definitely a great upgrade to my truck!

Good addition when installed properly.
Well built. Once installed properly they work very well. Instructions are not very accurate. I followed them to a “T”. Re-read instructions and measured several times before drilling. The hood did not completely clear the inner fender lip when closed. Had to drill out some rivets and reposition. Once re-done at my measurements it worked.

Redline Hood Struts on 2014 Tacoma
I completely love this kit, found a cheap pop rivet gun a Harbour Freight and 30 minutes later I was done!

Easy install
You’re going to need a rivet tool. Instructions easy to follow and has pictures so it’s easy to find where everything goes.

Just get close on your measurements. It's not the space shuttle.
Installed on 2010 Tacoma TRD Sport. When measuring 2 3/8" from edge of hood for the upper strut mounts, the holes were very close to the rounded edge of the crush rib. Consequently the edge of the bracket extended beyond the edge. The rivets that hold the upper brackets to the hood are steel, not aluminum. They were very difficult to "pop" using my rivet tool and hand strength. I had to use a "C" clamp to compressor the tool.DO NOT have the hood supported by the stock strut when you snap the struts onto the brackets. You will not be able to lift the hood up high enough to get it disengaged from the prop. You need another person to hold the hood up when the struts get snapped on.
