Parker 60R Safety Razor Shave Set - Includes Pure Badger Brush, Stand & Parker 60R Butterfly Open Safety Razor

A few months ago my electric went stupid so I decided to go retro and dig out my old DE razor and brush I used back in ancient times in college. They had not aged well and I couldn't find any DE blades locally. My old brush was shedding the only shave soap I found locally was over priced so I used Edge Gel as in the interim. Most of the blades I had were rusty. I ordered this set as it appeared to be the most cost effective way to go. I impatiently waited for it to arrive. The brush will hold a lot more water than needed and whips up a nice lather. The brush has a nice dense tuft of hair and the handle is nice and heavy. The brush did smell at first. I tried shampoo that helped but a few drops of dish soap and then another round of shampoo solved that. Badger hair is a natural product so if you want something completely orderless get a synthetic bristle brush that will never be as good as a badger brush. The stand is all solid metal has a solid metal 1 peace base no shell over insert unlike some other stands reviewed. I have had no corrosion just hard water mineral staining that have so far just wiped off. The razor is nice has a long handle. I find a butterfly opening razor is much easier to load blades than juggling all 4 parts assembling a 3 peace design plus blade. I would like if it were a little heavier but that is just a personal preference. The razor does not feel cheap of flimsy it just doesn't have the heft I would like. Since going back to DE shaving the only bad experience I have had was when I tried a Merkur blade it turned my face to hamburger. I am still experimenting with blades and soaps trying to find the ones that work best for me. DE is much cheaper better for the environment and does as good a job if not better than disposables.

The razor is made out of brass so don't drop it.I must of got lucky because it didn't break until I dropped it a second time.The brush and stand are good though.

Bought it after looking at about every other kit on this site. Good quality brush ( I don't know why everyone complains how bad these brushes smell cause mine doesn't smell at all unless you stick it in your nose and then its not even like its bad) Quailty razor, easy opening mechanism that appears sturdy and tightens well. The metal stand is sturdy too. Definitely will not tip if only one side is in use. Mine came with an additional plastic brush stand and 10 free blades

I'm new to wet shaving so bear in mind that I haven't used other safety razors before. From what I can tell so far, everything is a good product. The razor itself has a nice heft to it and it easily opens to replace blades. The brush makes a nice lather and it didn't lose many hairs.

This is a great product! It was a Christmas gift for my fiance and he loves it. He's tried different brushes and this is his favorite one. The razor also works extremely well. Definitely worth buying.
