Bought this to keep the cat off my Christmas tree
I purchased this in hopes that it would keep my cat off my Christmas tree. I have collected Hallmark ornaments since 1982 and I have hundreds of them on my tree. Well last year the cat climbed the tree and tipped it over and many of my ornaments broke and I was heart broken. This year we did tie the tree to the wall behind it just in case the spray did not work we would be ready. My son sprayed my tree skirt and also the lower branches of the tree. The cat went under the tree twice but never tried climbing it. My tree stays up from Dec. till the end of Jan. and the cat has not bothered it at all. I love this spray and I tell everyone about it. Want to keep your cat off of something use this spray.

I Think My Cat Likes It.
I have 4 cats living in my apartment. 3 females and a male that they love to chase and intimidate. One of the females is very young and makes it her mission not to let him go to the bathroom in the litter box. The male cat gets creative and goes other places and one of them is on the comforter on my bed. I was tired of washing and at my whit's end. I came across this product and decided to give it a try. It is a cat repellent but my cat loves it. It didn't stop him from urinating on my comforter. So it was back to washing and this product is a bust. What ended up working was a sleeping bag on the bed as a comforter. He is afraid of it because it is puffy and makes too much noise when he is on it. It also let's me know when he is on my bed.

Worked well at first, but smell is overpowering for people too and wears off too quickly
My cat is absolutely relentless with scratching up the couches and carpeted stairs, and literally nothing I have tried has worked. I have purchased soooooo many scratcher things to redirect him -- all different shapes, sizes, orientations, and materials -- and I've tried using catnip and catnip spray and feliway relaxer diffusers and tape and aluminum foil and nope. Nothing. He will sometimes scratch the scratchers, but his go-to continues to be the sides and creases of the couches and the edges of the stairs. Catnip seems to have no effect on him and I've yet to find a scratcher that mimics the couch fabric closely enough.I was desperate and was hoping this spray would be the solution. I got the lavender scent in hopes it wouldn't be as overpowering as citrusy smells can be. I was disappointed and shocked at how strong the scent was -- not only did one spritz deter my cat from the whole room, it also kept me out as well. It wasn't an unpleasant smell, just a super strong one. Maybe a different scent wouldn't have done this? It makes sense it would be strong, I guess I just didn't realize it would be quite so intrusive.Anyway, once the initial strength wore down enough to go in the room, it did seem to keep him from scratching. He'd go to the couch, sniff, grimace, and walk away. But about an hour later, he'd be back and the scent would be completely gone. At first I kept re-spritzing when this happened in hopes of training him off these places for the long run. But this became so tedious and frustrating, and on top of that the scent was no longer very tolerable to me after so many uses.Again, it did work a bit. Maybe other scents work better, and it probably depends a lot on the cat. This just wasn't the solution for us, and I guess I'll keep searching.

Works okay
I would say this does work - but you have to spray it every day. I have one corner of the coffee table that my cat has just decided to start scratching on. If I spray this everyday, she will stay away from it. But if I skip a few days or a week, she does go back to it. So I would say, yes it does work, but you have to be consistent with it.

This product SAVED our living room!
Cat Guard Pro was initially ONE of three products purchased to "discourage" our two fur babies from scratching/peeing/etc on our brand new couches, area rugs, throws, etc. Our furniture & carpets were stained, scratched, frayed, etc. In the end, we were so desperate, that we actually used cardboard nightly just to keep kitty from peeing on the furniture-AGAIN (Mommy's looking at YOU, Smokey! We're not rich or even financially solvent, but we had no choice! With a home filled with the results of foster/adoption kitties... I started shopping for new-NEW furniture. $3,500.00 later....full house carpet/furniture... As GORGEOUS as the new stuff was? My abject TERROR that with one wrong move, my new living/dining area RUINED. But, NO!! Your product (4 bottles later) SAVED-SAVED our living-room! I would HAPPILY endorse Cat Guard for EVER!! My deepest gratitude will not waiver, I will loudly and proudly tell EVERYONE about your product! Plus, we have two GORGEOUS rescue babies to tell their story too!

Worked with our Tortie!
We recently purchased a new (and EXPENSIVE) sofa and were quite worried our beloved kitty would scratch the ever loving fibers out of it like she had done with our last one. I searched Amazon and read a billion reviews and decided to give this product a try. The minute the furniture arrived I used almost the entire bottle spraying the couch in all the classic cat scratching places. (Seriously, I was almost choking.) Let me tell you, she hasn't even considered putting her claws on it! I then used the rest of it on a new area rug she was contemplating shredding and again, excellent results! I do want to mention that we have hard wood floors and it left sort of a stickiness from the overspray... I would put a towel or sheet down if I had it to do over again. Also, I didn't care much for the lavender scent so this time I ordered lemon... But these two things weren't enough for me to knock off a star because all I wanted was my couch to remain untouched by claws and didn't really give a rats patootie about what it smelled like to accomplish this. (The scent didn't linger anyway.) It's been a month now so I feel confident leaving a 5 star review. Also, keep in mind all cats are different... Some of them don't even react to catnip (my calico never did) so I can only guess that for the folks who didn't have good results, it's more to do with the cat's preference than the product because it absolutely worked for us!
