First Hebrew Primer Paperback – 1 Jan. 2000

Very good for starters up to a higher level.

So far so good - keeps things simple and great for me, a rusty ex-student of Hebrew. Need to remember that the pronunciation tips are for American readers so don't quite work for those with an English accent but otherwise it seems an excellent tool for reviving one's skills in the language.

Excellent book for the novice. I picked up the alephbet in no time. My apprehension of learning such a beautifully spiritual language has gone and my goal is to study the Hebrew Scriptures in its pure. Really excited

Having tried to learn Hebrew both Biblical and modern - this book is the best we have come across. So well put together and almost painlessly takes you chapter by chapter into the language.

I own lots of Hebrew grammars due to many failed attempts to learn Hebrew.This one has been the best by far.Pro's...Nice gentle learning curve.Lots of exercises to help you learnGets you writing as soon as possible.No theological or religious bias.It isn't perfectionistic and not picking about perfect spellingI have found other grammars demoralising but this one has been so good I have been enjoying using it and feel motivated to keep learning. There have been a few difficult spots but less than any other I have used.Cons...You have to buy the answer book separatelyPronunciation is based on an American accent which is no use to people who speak the Queen's EnglishThere are a few errors in the answer bookThere is no pdf available, accompanying audio cd or web site.Dull black and white print, no pictures or colour.Despite these cons this is easily the best grammar available and I have had much more success with this than any other. I have about a dozen different grammars in book form and in pdf which I found free on the internet (cough cough wink wink).I would gladly spend money on this again for a paper copy.I plan to complete this then recap using other grammars.

The Kindle version of this book is nothing but a bad photocopy of the printed book, complete with scrawled notes.

I haven't managed to get around to this book in depth yet, thought it looks interesting
