Airfix 1:72 Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 Kit ()

The rather unusual second scheme available for this kit is probably what attracted my attention to the kit. If you don't know how unique this scheme is, then wake up and smell the coffee. In 1944, Germany sold the Swiss 30 Bf 109G -6. The Swiss had already brought Bf 109D's and E's in 1939 and 1940. The model itself is not the best on earth. However, for the price it is a good solid kit. If you want a cheaper kit, you will need to buy used or hobby boss. I prefer to buy this kit for the reason that it goes together well. If you are lucky and I was, you will get four canopies for the plane. Another interesting fact about the kit is the transitional nature of the kit. Before the airfix people got the designs right, they used kits to mould for the Corgi and Airfix kits. This is a transitional mould, not as good as the hurricane but far better than the Mig 15. So if you are looking for a kit that is solid and easy to build and with an interesting color scheme, this may float your boat.

This was actually a great fun and easy to build little model and result was much better than I expected

This got a 3 star rating cause the kit was not the one shown when purchased but is the same plane just different decals of a different version flow by a different unit

These Airfix 1/72 kits are great

数年前に登場した比較的最近のキットですが、かなり大味な印象の出来です。 基本的なプロポーションは悪くありませんが、ディテールがとにかく甘く、機首のボイレが左右繋がっているのは失笑モノですし、コクピットは1960年代レベルの出来で、シートとパイロットしかなく、床や計器盤すらありません。 パーツ嵌合は良好で組み立て易いですが、座席を胴体に挟み込むと、胴体の合わせが悪くなるので、ここだけは削り合わせが必要です(胴体自体の合いは良い) やや太めながらも筋彫りは綺麗ですが、省略されているディテールも多く、電源接続口や給油ハッチがありません。 よく目立つマスバランスやピトー管もないので、是非追加したいです。 アクセサリーは意外と充実しており、増槽、爆弾(500㎏？)、20㎜機銃ガンポッド、W.Gr21空対空ロケット弾、トロピカルフィルター、エルラハウベなど豊富に付属します(ただし出来は甘い) デカールは上質なカルトグラフ製で、マーキングは、ボイレに目玉を描いた機体で知られる、アルフレッド・ズーラウ曹長機と少し珍しいスイス空軍の二種が付属しますが、ズーラウ曹長機に装着されているモラーヌアンテナは入っていません(キットの塗装図にはちゃんと描かれている) ハーケンクロイツも欧州キットの常で、当然入っていません。 現在このスケールのG-6は、最近リリースされたタミヤ製の決定版など、より優秀なキットが多数存在するので、敢えてこのキットを選択する意味はあまりないと思います。安い訳でもありませんからね(笑)

Great detail. Easy to work with parts. Plastic is heat sensitive and will deform with too much heat applied.

A good simple Airfix kit that is more simple to build than the 109E-3 in their Starter Set (but you would need to buy glue and paints in addition to this kit). I really enjoyed putting it together, and it has the alternative Swiss airforce scheme too which makes for a nice change. The three sprues are of good quality; a little bit of flash on a couple of parts, but otherwise plenty of detail and recessed panel lines. There is minimal cockpit - just a seat and pilot; I did make up a plate for the area behind the pilot's seat to avoid being able to see down the fuselage. The fit was good, with a little bit of juggling needed for the wings, and to get the closed wheel parts to fit in the openings (wouldn't be a problem if you make it with the wheels down option). Almost no filling was needed and parts matched together first time, while the single piece central wing meant the wing angles were effortlessly right.
