Purchased to replace the old ones on my truck which were starting to tear and sling grease everywhere. Unfortunately one of the axles came damaged from shipping in the box, presumably having been dropped on its end causing the axle to punch itself through its own end-cap. Customer service was very friendly and I was able to have a replacement shaft shipped to me, with no shipping cost on my end. The replacement unit arrived in superior packaging and thus was in perfect condition. Because of the excellent customer service in getting to me a replacement shaft I am satisfied to leave this review at 5 stars. As for the built quality, I did not see anything significantly deficient versus the factory unit, but I will point out that at very least to the credit of Detroit Axle for the units I received that they have a far superior axle nut versus the factory ones that were on my truck. The old ones were at best a Grade 5, wherease the new ones were definitely Grade 8 and twice as thick, also having been stamped so to lock better. Considering the boots on these, I would not recommend these in a consistently heavy off-road work environment because they did feel thinner than the factory ones. However for regular dirt or highway road use they should be fine.

Seem like they were worn out before I got them meaning they seem loose an sloppy like the were used or for a lighter vehicle than my k1500 suburban other than the quiet no leakage of grease fit perfect easy replacement with no problem

I received axles 2 days early. AMERICAN MADE, I might add. Detroit Axle is a USA product, I have purchased many parts from them. Thank you Detroit Axle.

Installed in 1998 chevy half ton went right in without removing any parts star pattern on flange makes easier to install.

Installed these new shafts, a month later passenger side exploded. Left me on the side of the road. And had to buy another one from local parts store. Very disappointed
