Bought for my sister along with the purple LED kit. Took her a while to put together but from what I could tell the pieces are made nicely, the included tool is surprisingly good quality, and the joycons look amazing put together. Def buying from this store the next time we need new shells.Also somebody noted in another review, passing it along as it helped my sister's build - use the included screws to replace the originals, as the originals are weak and will give you trouble if you try to take this shell off again later.

The media could not be loaded.  I wasn’t a big fan of the bright white Joycons that came with my OLED Switch, but I didn’t like any of the stock color options you could buy from stores. I figured I might just try swapping the shells (since the project looked fairly easy after looking up some tutorials), and I found these great looking smokey-clear shells on Amazon for such a good price!Overall, this entire project took me around 2.5 hours to complete. I’m not a tech novice, but I definitely took my time and ended up having to do a few steps over – those tiny components were a little tricky! For someone a bit more experienced in fixing tech, I would estimate it taking about an hour. It just takes plenty of patience and steady hands!The replacement shells looks and feel excellent in quality. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

I didn't bother watching a video as I'm impatient but figuring it out was fairly straightforward so installation as long as you take it slow and patient should be pretty easy. The ribbon cables inside the controller are the most annoying things out of the whole ordeal, so I'd highly recommend getting some cheap electronic tweezers as without those you'll definitely be sitting there for a while trying to get them in. There are also very tiny springs under the triggers which you'll want to be careful of not having them fly off into the netherworld, though it did come with replacement springs if you happen to lose them in the process. I didn't need to sand anything or make any shell modifications it was pretty much perfectly 1:1, much better than other shells I've experienced. I did not use the buttons it came with though and opted to use the black buttons since I think it looks nicer and they have a better texture. The buttons come on a little plastic mold so you may have to cut off some bits if you use them.The replacement screws are nicer than nintendos screws to avoid stripping since they use a #00 instead of a Y00, so make sure to use the included screws instead of nintendos. Just make sure to not screw them in excessively tightly or you'll have a hard time opening it back up since small screws are prone to stripping no matter the tools of which you use. Despite reviews on here in my opinion the screwdriver it came with is actually pretty alright. I had some nintendo screw drivers already from modding my gameboys and the one included was better than them, nice weight to it so you can apply pressure and slowly unscrew to avoid stripping.I ended up having to take back apart one of the them, as a ribbon cable ended up not being pushed in perfectly and the SR SL buttons didn't work. I anticipated this and made sure to not screw in the last black screws before testing them out. The switch has a menu option to test controller functionality so you can check each button is working properly which you should do before as it's very possible you'll not be able to open them back up. The black screws on the outside of the shell are the most prone to stripping.Goodluck! If you've never done something like this before definitely expect this to be an hour or two project, definitely doable though even if you're inexperienced.

Fairly straight forward install. I went step-by-step off the iFix-it guide and was able to get both done in about a hour and a half. Everything went together without issue and feels just as solid as the factory clamshell. I also think they look pretty sweetI left a couple buttons factory for aesthetic purposes but honestly may end up going back and swapping out the buttons for a different color set if I end up having to open these up for anything else (I was doing a left joy stick swap today and figured i'd do the shells while I was at it.)My only advise would be to have a pair of tweezers/forceps handy because they are very helpful with reconnecting the cables. I would also advise using the factory screws and not the ones included with the replacement shell. There is a definite quality difference there, but I'm happy that it's only the included screws that seem lacking in quality.Would definitely buy again, but they seem solid enough that I doubt I will have to.

Super bonne coque de remplacement, a posé avec délicatesse et minutie, demande un peu de savoir faire en la matière et un bon outillage, mais une fois fait, le rendu est juste magnifique.

Estas carcasas son magníficas. Después de un rato para la instalación de las mismas, se puede afirmar que el resultado es muy bueno, evidenciando de esa forma la calidad de las mismas. El único punto negativo que le encuentro es la ausencia de unos reemplazos para los botones SL y SR, ya que al tener la versión neón de los joy-con desentona un poco con la estética general del mando. En general, las recomiendo mucho para quien esté dispuesto a abrir su joy-con.

Mit etwas technischem Verständnis, Erfahrung, einem guten Auge oder allen drei Dingen super einfach zu tauschen. War mein erster Austausch des Controller Cases und war in ein paar Minuten gemacht.Die Verarbeitung des Gehäuses ist sehr gut auch wenn die ein oder andere Befestigung des Originals nicht dabei ist. Doch da der hier getauschte Controller ebenfalls gemodded war fiel das nicht auf. Kenne es aber aus Videos, dass die Einschubleiste mit den zwei farbigen "L und R-Buttons" normal auch mit einem Gehäuseteil verschraubt ist und nicht nur wie hier eingesteckt.Trotzdem macht das Gehäuse und die Komponenten einen guten Eindruck, auch wenn es ein paar Komponenten gab bei denen nicht klar war was man damit anfangen sollte. Bei den Knöpfen waren je zwei L und R Knöpfe die bei den Joycons keinerlei Anwendung finden mehr enthalten im Gussrahmen und ein Schraubendreher mit entsprechenden Bits ist sogar auch noch gleich mit dabei.Somit, das Ergebnis zählt und es passt hervorragend. Daher kann ich es nur empfehlen!

Not the easiest DIY by any means, but with tweezers and some patience it all went well. I used Jerry Rig Everythings video, definitely would recommend his tutorial over others. I have a little bit of experience working on small electronics but nothing close to what this entailed. The first joycon was scary but by the time I was working on the second one it was already becoming second nature, I would definitely do this again in the future. The hardest thing was getting the ZR and ZL buttons back onto the shell with the springs. You will hate your life for about 20 minutes fiddling with that but everything else is really straight forward.The quality of the actual shell is great as well, feels nice and soft to the touch and of course they look absolutely incredible in atomic purple. Can't speak to the button quality as I didn't use them except for the SL and SR buttons on the joycon rail, but they seem fine.The tools they provided werent the best, I used my own screwdriver and tweezers I had from a cheap electronics repair kit. Highly highly recommend them over the screwdriver or your fingers for flipping up the ribbon cable latches that are absolutely tiny.Overall, I'm really glad I did this shell swap. The quality is great, they look amazing, and the process albeit stressful at times was fun, especially for a beginner like me. Would definitely recommend picking these shells up!
