Basic Series Vane Mount for Kestrel 1000, 2000 & 3000 Series Meters

Works great but I'm really confused about the AA battery comment in the description and even mentions that it comes with a battery in the box. This vane is not battery powered and my Kestrel 2700 runs on a single 2032 watch battery. Really like the live updates on wind direction and speed for shooting.

It works, but it seems to not move as easily as it should. Also a note: I bought this to try and jerry rig a wind vane for a Weatherflow meter, it works but the way I had to do it was to just cut a piece of dense packing foam (not the normal styrofoam) to slide in where the kestrel would normally go, rubber band it in place, then use the Weatherflow’s 3.5mm adapter to just punch in to the top of the foam. Looks like crap, but it works.

Works well with Kestrel 2700 meter. Adds ability to see wind direction added to speed.

I made the mistake of thinking this was going to be compatible with my Kestrel 5700. It is not. Its made for the tiny kestrel.

If you shoot intermediate to long range, this is a must have for your set up. This particular vane will work with the 2700 series Kestrel. If you run one of the 4000 or 5000 series Kestrels, buy the vane assembly designed for those models.

Does not work with my model 5700. Too small of base to hold
