Great Coffee Pot
I just recently bought this percolator, and tried it in various settings: on the stove top at home, on a camping propane cooker, and on a grill over an open fire, and all with different types of coffee - all three methods and beans produced the most amazing coffee. Now I am a coffee snob, and I don't even drink any coffee at coffee shops because I feel they don't know how to make a good cup of java. The coffee made with this percolator is rich, almost creamy, full-flavored but not bitter. If you make sure to grind your coffee on the coarse setting, the amount of grinds that make it into the coffee are minimal. One of the batches was even made with cheap Folger's coffee that my friend brought on our camping trip, and this little miracle pot even managed to turn that one into a delicious cup of coffee. Yes, the insert is not the most stable, but it performs its function perfectly, and unless you use it "other than directed," you shouldn't have any problems with it. I keep it in the pot, and clean it carefully by hand, and have not had any problems. I highly recommend this percolator.

Nice sturdy percolator
Love my cowboy coffee pot. I bought it so if there was a power outage I would have a way to make coffee. Nice sturdy percolator coffee pot.

Poor quality inner components, but a good coffee maker for the price
Good coffee maker, but you definitely get what you pay for. I paid just a little over $20. The inner percolator mechanism, upon arrival, had a bent base. As I needed it for my camping trip that weekend, I didn't have time to send it back or complain. I gingerly bent it back into place and it worked fine. The inner percolator assembly, however, is very cheap feeling. I don't think it's plastic, but it's a very soft, easily broken material. In addition, the lid to the coffee basket is so soft that it doesn't really make a great seal onto the basket itself so when the water gets boiling, it has the tendency to actually push coffee grounds out of the basket and into the water. Also, the clip that holds the lid to the handle is very soft and has already broken after two uses. As for the functional aspect, it did exactly as it was supposed to. It produced a pretty darned good cup of coffee. Keep in mind that "8 Cups" is 8 6 oz cups. For the size cups we were using at my camping trip, it was more like 4 cups. Luckily, I had an airpot that I brought so I just made batches of coffee and added it to the airport/thermos for keeping warm. Bottom line: it's decent product for around $20. Handle the inner components with care and it should last you a good long while. Makes pretty good coffee, but has the tendency to include grounds.

Damaged and seems to be lesser quality
I just received it. Obviously haven’t used it yet. There is a major chip on the back rim. The lid does not fit snugly, I guess that’s why there an hinge attached to the lid and the pit handle. And, the glass nob doesn’t seem to screw on and off easily.

Don't waste your money
This is not good quality. The lid is very flimsy. It's held on with a little piece of metal. The top is plastic, not glass like the old percolators were. The little cup that holds the coffee bowl is so shallow that when the coffee percolates, it gets coffee grounds in tthe cofee and the coffee is very weak tasting.

Love this pot
Love this thing. I am trying to figure out the correct ratio so grounds dont get in the coffee. I will figure it out eventually. Love it

Did not think this was as solid as it looks. Handle gets very hot and centre viewing piece falls out. Not really very happy with this. It is ok size wise and all but...

I love these types of coffee makers but with this one in particular you are going to have to grind your own beans and not to fine either, otherwise at the bottom of the cup you get a nice meal of coffee grounds. You could always carry a tea strainer I suppose and it’s hardly the worst thing ever but there’s bound to be folk who have a serious issue with such an inconvenience. Coffee tastes amazing and if used indoors the whole house smells great too.

mit dem Gaskocher zusammen bekommt man einen guten Kaffee unterwegs, allerdings sollte der Kaffee nicht zu fein gemahlen sein, etwas gröber ist besser, aber funktioniert super

Poor quality. Pricetag way to high! Should had been an ornament in my trailer but no. Returned the first shipment. The second was in the same condition but I just accepted the fact and kept it.

hay que seguir las instrucciones, hace buen café, necesita filtro de papel. Llego bien embalado, perfecta, en el tiempo acordado, un color verde muy bonito (la quería en otro color pero siempre está agotado)
