Mix 24 grams of Super Select (or any shock product with a comparable Active Ingredient percentage of Calcium Hypochlorite) to 1 gallon of water to make 1 gallon of DIY UC Roots type mixture.UC Roots cost...$55-$90 per gallon. Do-it-yourself cost...about $0.28 per gallon. Use this DIY ROOTS product at a rate of 1 ml per gallon for cloning. I use 3 ml per gallon to treat my RDWC garden every week. I use 10 ml per gallon to clean the system after harvest and prep for the next crop. Run your recirculating pump for 6-24 hours and flush. Works great.

I like the chlorox brand better, this one causes a small scum like froth. However this shock did a good job of killing my algae

by all means do not by this shock. i keep my pool water sparkling clear and i ran out of the normal shock i use so i bought hth shock select added it to my sparkling clean water and it turned the water milky cloudy white instantly. avoid hth select shock like the plague, its not shock, its powdered milk.

I have bought better Shock Treatment for our pool. We had a problem with algae and I used all 5lbs to get get rid of the stuff. After several days and running the pump constantly the pool cleared up.

DIDNT WORK ON POND ALGEE

Ok, this thing works miracles. I have my pump hooked up, I've been floating a chlorine dispenser and I've been doing this for WEEKS and my pool was still green. I didn't hold out much hope for this either. I would have been encouraged by it looking at least slightly less green. But when I went out this morning, my water was BLUE and CLEAR. This stuff works miracles. I'm impressed!
