Installed on 2005 Deville
At 62,000 miles one of the orginial air shocks was leaking. These shocks are a perfect replacement. They are not the shock with embedded electronics, just the self-leveling air shock on the 'base' suspension of a Cadillac. The top is a little larger than the stock shock, but they do not hit anything. The air connector/nipple is an exact fit. I jacked up one side, put a barrel jack under the suspension to 'unload' the shock. The top nut is in the trunk, under the 'carpet', with a rubber cover that pulls off. There are two bolts on the bottom. Very easy to remove and reinstall. The air line unclips. At this price, they are much, much less than stock shock price. The top mount is an elaborate rubber mount, and these do NOT come with a this replacement. But mine seemed in almost perfect shape and did not need replacement. I think this rubber mount can be bought for about $25 (each?) if yours has been deformed. The ride seems about the same as stock. Some comments on a replacement shock say it is much more stiff, but I feel these are about the same as stock.

Great Replacement
Great fit & replacement. Much smoother ride. Easy to install. Appear to be very good quality for the price.

Shocks' ride, feel, and quality.
This shocks are a good replacement to oem shocks for a 2000 Cadillac Seville SLS. Albeit, they are not as cushy as stock shocks but for about $64 a pair, it's very hard to beat. Oem shocks are anywhere from 400-1000 each one...that's right, up to 2000.00 for a pair of oem shocks. Of course, prices vary depending upon where you purchase them. Back to the Max-Airs. They hook-up the same as the oem. Fit snug and secure. They are also just as big. You will notice the shocks have a large diameter. The shocks are also black, not white as advertised...sure makes it easier to hide the fact they are not oem. These shocks DO NOT come with the electronic adjustable sensor...hence the price. Still, the provide a solid ride with a reasonable amount of cushion. I quickly noticed that they don't provide a cloud-like feel, but for $64 they're are a great alternative. The shocks do air up and help offset weight in the rear. They handle pretty well over bumps and provide a smooth ride for the most part. You will be able to tell a differece with these shocks in comparison to oem, but again you are saving a ton of money. As for quality, they are monroe...a good brand with solid contstruction. Plus, I think the ones I got offered a life-time warranty. Only time will tell how long they last. Still, have carried light loads and heavy loads the rubber boot inflats perfectly and deflates perfectly. Definitely worth it if you like your car, don't want to part with it, and don't have at least $800 to buy a set of oems. O yeah, almost forgot, installation was pretty easy. Basic tools are needed and it's definitely a one-man, under the tree, driveway type install.

Easy DIY project for a nice ride!!! Save yourself some money on this one!
I purchased these air shocks for my 2005 Buick La Sabre Custom, 31,000 mile, based on previous reviews and felt comfortable with all of the comments. I only had problems with self made errors when I tried to secure the nut to the top of the shocks, I had the metal washer turned the wrong way, and I couldn't get the nut to start on the threads. The washer looks upside down, and that is what threw me. The shocks didn't look like the ones I have, until I fully extended them. Just hook the bottom bar to something and they easily extend. The Bore or size of the shocks looks a little larger than my stock ones. The shocks don't come with the bottom nut and bolts, only the washers and the top nut that secures the shock mounted inside the trunk. Two of my clips (nuts) were already broken but I was able to still use them, holding them in place with a vise grip pliers. I too wish the bolts and nuts came with the new shocks. Also, I placed the clip over the airline before placing it back on the Air Shock, and it snapped securely. Much easier than trying to spread the clip after pushing the air cap on the shock, then the clip. Looks like my Buick was raised about two inches. We'll see how she rides on our trip next week.

Excellent replacement at a fraction of the OEM cost
In case anyone else posted this long ago, here are is how I did it. My old shocks were completely blown out. Start to finish takes about an hour. The rear hopping was eliminated finally. One boot was folded up into the shock, but compressing the shock a few times fixed that. Disconnect the air line. Remove the top 2 side nuts first dropping the shock down. Once those are removed, remove the two bolts securing the bottom part of the shock. I didn't compress the springs because I never removed the arm from the subframe to the control arm. I may suggest doing that however. The shock will then come out. Transfer over the top rubber piece to the new shock. Watch how the washers are oriented from the old shock. Also move over the brackets from the bottom of the old shocks to the new shocks. Then, only loosely put the top bolt on so it can swivel making installion easier. The old top nut will not fit. If you lose the new ones, the nuts needed are M10-1.25. Don't ask me how I know that. LOL! They are threaded differently than the stock ones. Put the new shock in place. Use a jack to move the control arm up so the top bolts stick through the holes. Then tighten. Go back under the car. Install the bottom two bolts. Go back up top and then fully tighten the middle nut. Remove jack. Put the rubber cover back on and molded carpet cover back over and then done.

Great Fit and Value, But Reliability Issues Left Me Stranded
I was recommended these shocks for my 07 Cadillac DTS as a direct fit replacement by multiple people on Cadillac Forum. The product was shipped and received promptly, however one of the shocks I received failed within 40 miles after installation, leaving me stranded on the side of the highway waiting for a friend to drop off my old suspension for a bandaid fix. I have faith that my experience with this product was an exception to the standard, however the whole situation has left me wary of buying such inexpensive aftermarket equipment. Parts failure aside, the suspension rode somewhat well, however the car drove more like a crown vic than a cadillac, even after priming the shocks before installation. They maintain ride height perfectly fine under dynamic load, and hook up to the car's air lines without modification. This product is worthy of purchase to get your vehicle back on the road, however I likely will not be trying Monroe brand shocks again after this incident.

Need top shock mounts to match Monroe upper bolt diameter.
Ordered these Monroe Max air MA822 adjustable shock absorbers for my 2003 Cadillac Deville. The ride is vastly improved, doesn’t feel like a hoopdi low Rider now😁. Only issue is that the kid does not include top shock mounts, which cost an additional $40… I thought my existing ones were fine, but there is a slight difference in the diameter of the top shock bolt which allows it to rattle around in the existing shock mounts. Annoying rattle that I cannot live with. Make sure you order a complete assembly.
