STAEDTLER 122-HB Noris Graphite Pencils with Eraser-Tip - HB (Box of 12)

I really like this pencils. Lately I have been buying different types of Staedtler pencils and the difference between the brands are slight. All Staedtler pencils are good and they all last a long time, that is why you pay $10.00 + dollars per box. Only buy Staedtler made in Germany, never buy the ones made in Indonesia. The Indonesian Staedtlers have a soft lead and don't hold a point for very long. Speaking of this brand of pencil, for a number 2 pencil, it writes a long time and I have not needed to sharpen it and I have been writing for a while. If you compare a Staedtler Noris with the Staedtler Tradition, The Noris holds a point slightly longer than a Tradition and both pencils seem to made of the same kind of wood. The cedar chosen for the aforementioned pencils don't smell like cedar. The Staedler Noris is a pretty pencil and has a great paint job.

Excellent writing pencil. Graphite is firm but not scratchy. Pencil is well painted and feels good. The eraser works well and does not smear. Solid pencil for writing and drawing. OMGHOWCHEAP, the seller I bought from, had a great price and good shipping time. If you like Mitsubishi and Tombow give this German pencil a try, you will not be disappointed.

I used these on trips to Europe and decided to order more for home and office. These are the good ones made in Germany and I am very pleased. Good point and writes well.

My child like this pencil and commanded for all. This Pencil gives very smooth writing on paper.

My wife is Austrian and buys only Staedtler pencils, pens, and markers. She is a college student and researcher, and uses these pencils everyday to mark books. The pencils are excellent. One package of twelve pencils would last for almost a year. Great quality 👍

I love everything about this pencil. Excellent quality, soft wood with every sharpening and soft smooth writing or drowning . For me I pay more for my happiness and enjoying my experience.

Written in February 2025 WARNING: Read before you buy! I recently purchased another box of Noris with erasers. Apparently Staedtler now does NOT use normal wood to make their Noris pencils instead the pencil says: Made from Upcycled Wood. The description on Amazon for the pencils does not indicate this anywhere. The Noris pencils which are made from the Upcycled wood are of inferior quality and do not write the same as the standard wooden Noris HB pencils. The lead is not as soft, and it feels like the friction against the paper is much less. This is likely due to the composition of the artificial wood material they use to make the body of these pencils which has some sort of oily quality. As a result when you write you hear and feel like there is less friction against the paper which means you have to press harder and to perform the same amount of writing requires much more force from the hand. Basically now it is an inferior pencil. There are still many better alternatives to this pencil. You can buy any of the premium Japanese pencils by Tombow or Mitsubishi. Even Ticonderoga are better despite being made in China and India. If stadtler is shifting their production entirely to thus “Upcycled wood” or the Wopex material then the era of good Staedtler pencils is over.

When my father was in Dubai we used to get me this pencils in doZen boxes..smoth writting and quality is very good.love the smell of staedler noir pencils. Worth buying....smooth and long durable...
