My niece loved it.

I did not pay attention to the size in the item description, and did not look at any of the reviews before purchasing, so I was VERY surprised when I first saw the package. These books are VERY small. That being said, after the initial shock wore off, I think they might be just perfect for little hands. Yes, the books are small to me, but I didn’t purchase them for me, I bought them for my 5 and 6 year olds. The covers seem sturdy, and the pages are of good quality. When you start book 1, there are just a few words on each page, perfect for brand new beginning readers. I love how each new book introduces a new phonics rule, along with new sight words, blending sounds, and Paw Patrol words so they are learning more and more words as they go, all while reinforcing ones they’ve already learned. As your kids progress through the books they get a little bit harder and have more words on each page. I also like how at the beginning of the book it lists the new words they will be learning, so you can practice with your child before they start to read the story. All in all, I give these books 2 thumbs up!! My kids are both very excited to start reading them, and even though my newly 5-year-old hasn’t started reading yet, she loves ALL THINGS PAW PATROL, and is just as excited for them as my new reader. One of my children is very into Paw Patrol right now and is learning to read. These have been helpful to encourage that. She does have some trouble with the names so we help her with those. She is looking forward to being able to read the set all by herself one day!

The media could not be loaded. My toddler loves paw patrol so I got this books because he can recognize some sight words. This set of books book will help him learn how to read faster.

Overall, it's not bad. Just sad that book #9 is missing and have two #12 books.

I needed this for my son who never did care too much for reading. He enjoys watching the shows more than reading about anything. So, I try this Step into Reading boxed set that includes 12 full-color phonics readers featuring (the pups of Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol!) He is a fan of that show. I love it because each book features a specific phonics concept that will give any child the tools they need to start back reading on their own. And it helped him get out of that not-reading mentality to reading again. No matter how young or old you are. Reading is important.
