Works on a 20” wheel - on my e bike. - added some safety measures
Was skeptical when I bought these about them working on a smaller wheel and on an e-bike that obtains 20 plus mph speed. What I did do, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND is take your time in mounting them as tight to the wheel rim as possible and then use tie wraps every few inches to secure them further. (I needed to use extra tie wraps not supplied). I also took the battery controller and used the rubber straps to secure it to the spokes AND took several long tie wraps and secured it better. (This was one of the sticking points people mentioned in reviews about the straps breaking or loosening). By adding tie wraps I don’t have to worry they will break and result in disaster for me and the bike. I was also worried about cutting them to fit the shorter/smaller wheel, but this worked fine. I just made sure to cut after a light. I didn’t want to wrap excess throughout the tire like some suggested. I wanted a clean circle around the tire. Pros: Easy to install, being able to cycle through all colors or to stop on one color makes for endless choice and cool effect and you can change color to suit your mood every time your ride or stop the bike. Cons: Felt necessary to secure more than recommended with extra tie wraps, a bit hard to turn off and on when you have to reach through the spokes to find the push button. While securing it extra, it does make it more difficult when batteries need changing, but safety was first for me. Overall, it provides great light for dusk or night riding and great visibility of your bike on the road or trail, and boy do your look and feel cool! Buy them and have fun! All eyes will turn when you ride!

Love love love these!
I've had these on my bike for about 8 months and haven't had to change the batteries once yet. They were super easy to install and haven't migrated from their original position, which was a concern of mine. They're bright, you can pick any solid color or let the colors cycle for a very cool show. I get loads of compliments riding at night and appreciate the safety of being seen while riding in the dark.

Great, if you get the real deal
I got these for my boyfriend. So I originally ordered these from Amazon marketplace and by comparing the box I got to the genuine box photos, it was pretty obvious that I received knockoffs. Amazon was really good about refunding my purchase after I complained. Unfortunately, it looks like these keep getting sold by a series of slightly sketchy importers, using shifting names, and I don't fully trust that anyone selling Wheel Brightz under this listing is selling the genuine article. So I bought a new set of Wheel Brightz from the manufacturer's website. I am super bad at mechanical stuff, but installation was OK. Maybe 15-20 minutes per wheel. I got the pink one, my boyfriend got the multi-color. They both look great. The multi-color version looks kind of ugly when you're stationary compared to the other, more uniform colors, but it's totally sick when you're actually on the bike in motion -- it's like having a little rainbow whipping around your rim. For thirty bucks you bring a lot of joy to the world -- we probably average one direct compliment for every 1-2 miles or so of biking, depending on pedestrian density (and I overhear a lot of people talking about the lights but not directly to us). Typical encounters: A little kid in Bernal Heights shouted "you have a cool bike!" from his front porch. A (probably slightly intoxicated) pedestrian in the Mission told my boyfriend he had the coolest bike in San Francisco and gave him a fist-bump. Another stranger shouted, "I like your Playa bike!" (this is not my Playa bike, although these lights would be perfect for Burning Man.) The lights are very bright and visible, although you still need to have standard front and rear lights, as the Wheel Brightz can't be seen from directly behind or in front of the bike. Update: A year later, I still haven't had to change the batteries! I have had to order one replacement power supply for my boyfriend's bike, though -- we hang our bikes vertically by the front wheel on wall-mounted hanging racks and over time, the power cord got caught between the wheel and the rack enough times that it frayed and wore through. (You can avoid this if you are reasonably careful when you hang up your bike and avoid crushing the power connector cable -- it just hadn't occurred to us that this would be a problem until the cable broke, so we didn't bother trying to avoid it.) More recently, a segment (about a quarter) of the lights on one of his wheels went out, although you can't tell when the bike is in motion. Again, this is probably caused by hanging the bike by the front wheel. Update II: I've gotten several more sets of these, and they're still great, but I notice that in some of the sets I've bought more recently, in the initial packaging, the battery pack is screwed on so tightly I've had to use an electric screwdriver to open it -- it would be nice if they could fix that and not over-tighten the screws! Update III: I recently brought a pair of these to Burning Man. I noticed on the Playa that of all the different lighting schemes people used for their bikes, Wheel Brightz were the brightest and most visible -- far better than EL wire or front and rear lights. If you are planning to go to Burning Man, I would recommend Wheel Brightz as an absolute must-have for your bike.

Straps broke. Both light ropes useless within 1 week
I got these for my bike at Burning Man in 2022. Loved the lights! So easy to install. The strap for attaching the battery pack was easy to use. The lights looked great. Yahoo. Went out for a ride. Unfortunately — the next morning when I looked at the bike, I found that the battery pack from the rear wheel was completely gone. It had completely fallen off the wheel. Lights were kaput. I used tape to reinforce the connection of the front wheel battery pack to the tire. That survived until almost the end of the week, when I noticed it fly off as I rode. Second set of lights useless. Admittedly the ground at Burning Man in 2022 was very washboard. Pretty much constant bouncing everywhere. I imagine that the bands were simply not up to that level of persistent jostling. Still after 10 days of use, less than 50 miles of riding, both lights are completely useless. Maybe these will work for gentle rides on smooth pavement, For anything harsher than that, they need serious help to keep the battery pack in place. I guess the best part of this story is that when the batter pack came loose, it broke the connecting wires and was flung away, rather than getting tangled in moving bike parts. I’d give this 5 stars for ease of use and coolness. But falling apart so fast - sorry, gotta give it 1 star. P.S. I see there are lots of complaints in recent reviews about the strap breaking. I wonder if the manufacturer changed the strap recently. Brightz, notice up! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Update 8/19/23 - About 4 days after posting my original review we received an email from Brightz saying they wanted to make things right, and offering a replacement set of lights. I love the lights, so said yes. We’ve installed these on the bike. I noticed that the band for the battery pack is different than last year’s - very stiff, and more difficult to install. We also zip tied the battery pack to the spokes. Will make it more difficult to change batteries, but they’ll probably last the week, and I’m not interested in risking the lights just to find out if the new band is stronger than the old one. Did learn one thing - it’s important to install the battery pack right-side-up, with the light wires coming out toward the rim. Duh. We got it upside down on the front wheel. The connecting cord isn’t long enough to reach to the rim in this case. See picture. So for now we’re set. Brightz definitely gets credit for quick response. Increasing from 1 star to 2 for good customer support. Will report back again after Burning Man. Fingers crossed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Updated 9/13/23 Well, the good news is that with the addition of the zip ties, the lights and battery pack lasted all week. Sweet. As luck would have it, one night I noticed a piece of litter (i.e. “moop” - matter out of place) that turned out to be another WheelBrightz battery pack. This was Wednesday evening, when the playa was still very smooth. Looks like their battery pack strap still isn’t adequate. I’ve upgraded the rating to 4 stars - their customer service was good, I like the lights, and I’m OK adding zip ties. Not 5 stars because I still don’t trust their battery pack strap.

Great product, great support
We bought 2 sets for my wife's commuter bike last Christmas. She loves them - her commute home is often in the dark, and side visibility is crucial. A year later the batteries had run out, but after replacing them, one wheel still didn't work - it seemed like the switch was defective. But with one email to the Brightz support team, they cheerfully sent a replacement, even though we were well out of warranty. It came in a few days and is now up and running. Nice job Brightz!

Bright and fun
So far my kids love their lights. I suppose my only question is how long with they last on my kids bikes before breaking--they are rough on their toys. I bought one multi-color set (two strands) and put one strand on the back wheel of each of my daughters' bikes. The strands are a little long for my daughter's 24 inch bike, but I didn't want to cut the strand so there is a little overlap. I wound the lights through the spokes along the outside edge (up against the back of the rim) using the supplied zip ties to keep them in place when needed. The light pack itself fits well on the spokes (opposite side of the chain) and is easy to turn on an off by pressing the very small button. My other daughter has an 18 inch bike. The strands are quite long but I spiraled it from the center of the wheel to the outer edge, using up the entire length of the strand. I actually like this look a little better when the wheels are spinning. The only problem that I had on the 18 inch bike was fastening the battery pack to the spokes. It would not work the way the instructions showed because there was not enough clearance (due to some sort of support brace) for the battery pack to rotate completely around; however, I was able to place the pack inside of the two layers of spokes and fasten it that way. It is a little difficult to turn on and off, but no too bad. You can see in the attached pictures the brace (circled in red) that is in the way and how I mounted the battery pack in the middle of the spokes instead of the outside. The girls have had a great time turning on their lights at dusk and biking through parks and campgrounds. The lights draw quite a bit of attention and they have been asked many times where they found them. Now that I have seen how well they work--how bright they are--I will probably order another set so that they can have both, front and back, wheels light up.

Useful lights, unresponsive customer service
I love wheel lights! The fun, colorful, decorative lights are playful, and the safe practicality of being clearly illuminated from the sides is an actual life saver. So, when my last wheel lights stopped working I knew it was an easy decision to replace them. I purchased and installed my new lights and headed out for my commute. Two blocks from home, I heard a freaky clunking from my wheel and pulled over. Somehow, the battery pack came unstrapped, snapped the wire, and made its way out from my spokes. Tracing back the trail of pieces behind me, the case cracked open, lost the fresh batteries in a pile of leaves, and the battery box door that had broken off was almost immediately run over by a car. Though I was supremely thankful nothing got lodged in my wheel to take me out in traffic, it was still an intense start to a Monday morning. Unfortunately, I didn't even get to use my new lights once before they were toast. I proceeded to spend the rest of the day replaying in my head what happened and what could have gone wrong since the battery box was snapped shut and properly strapped to my spokes, right? It wasn't until I returned home that I saw the broken piece of rubber strap laying on the ground. Presumably, sometime between installation and my commute, the strap had snapped, leaving the battery box to fly off once I started pedaling hard. If I didn't see the rubber piece I would have never even considered it since, in all other respects, it's a pretty hardy strap. I shared this with Brightz directly, and even after a follow-up email from me, I never received any acknowledgment. Take that for what it's worth. I'm just thankful I lived to tell the tale. Check your straps, turn your lights on, and be safe out there, cyclists.

Super Bright attention getting fun and built to last....Love these lights
Hi Amazon Shoppers , Summer is closing to an end and the cycling nights are getting few and far between .I have to say this was the best summer of bike riding for me mostly due to these amazing lights . I wasn't at all familiar with them until my wife spotted them at an outdoor market .I blindly agreed to the purchase because they sounded fun and boy are they fun .Since buying four sets that day I came to Amazon and bought six more .I had to have a set for my new bike and pet trailer and I like them so much I got a few on the shelf , just in case .That set is still on the shelf and it doesn't look like I will be using them anytime soon because these are a quality built product not at all flimsy or brittle . The heavy-duty battery box is an awesome piece of engineering I think ,This is designed to clamp to your spokes and it does just that by means of an x shape configuration molded into the box and a slide plate that is unscrewed to loosen and tightened down to lock it into place once you have it into position , The back of the box is screwed on so you know your batteries aren't going anywhere until you are ready to put a fresh set in After the first set I was slapping these on in no time at all . The well-insulated wiring also plays a role in the durability of these lights .It's not a bare copper wire and it has a nice thick coating of insulation running to a larger clear section of PVC tubing .A simple but effective design ,The tubing itself pushes right into a 26-inch wheel perfectly and the thickness of the tubing actually secures it into place . On my fat bike I was a bit leery at first but once I started lacing the lights through the spokes they fell right into place and the thicker PVC tubing helped to hold them into place .I cut mine down a few inches so I would have a seamless ring of lights and I am glad I did because they look amazing .I had people from all ages yelling I like your bike and cool bike all summer long. The battery life is excellent.I rode pretty much every night for 12 to 20 miles and hang out at the park while I'm on my bike and haven't had to change my batteries once ,There still as bright as the day I bought them too . I will update with better pictures tomorrow but for now heres a few that I have handy. Thanks for reading .Happy cycling.
