This is a fantastic train! We have a mix of Imaginarium, IKEA, and Brio train parts and I have been having a difficult time finding a motorized train that would go on the tracks. If that's you, look no further - this is your train!It's powerful, easy to work, and has lights and sounds (reasonably loud but not too loud). It can pull several other cars on uphill tracks and also reverses and stops. I also really appreciate the switch on the bottom to turn it off so I can conserve the battery.Came nicely packaged in a sturdy box and bubble wrap, with good documentation, but I honestly didn't need it. Easy to work for adults and kids :)If Tiny Land had more individual trains (different colors, etc.) for sale we would be buying them up! For now we will enjoy this and look into the track set for Christmas :) Fantastic value!

The media could not be loaded. The trains looks amazing it has more torque thanks to the additional battery but traction is not enough so that renders the additional torque almost useless. Also The gears did not survive 5 mins in the hands of a 3 years old kid, now when climbing a hill the train make a grinding noise... That is a deal breaker detail ...____________________________________________Couple of days after that review I was determine not to buy a new train and get my hands on fixing this one so I opened it ... gears were in perfect shape and lubricated... but they were slipping, so the ultimate solution was a small piece of foam-tape about 1 mm thick on top of the little engine so when the body is closed it presses the engine down avoiding the slipping of the little worm drive over the gear... now is a 5 stars train very sturdy and durable.

Moving train piece that is perfect for any miniature train set. My three year old loves this piece, with and without being connected to the other parts of his train. Makes playing with trains even more fun and realistic.Super easy to use - two AA batteries with an on/off switch to start the motion. The three buttons on top make it easy to understand and operate - my toddler figured out how to make it go forward and backward within moments and the middle button stops the movement. So nice that he can control it without me constantly having to help (big boy stuff!) He likes to place his hand on top while it moves around.I also love that when it's going forward the yellow lights in the front turn on and when moving backward a red reverse light comes on. Has train sounds to give it a realistic feel.The best part is the magnets connect to any train pieces and runs on the standard tracks - we have a larger collection of Thomas the Train pieces that this works perfectly with. We'll probably take this on trips with us too as it's lightweight and high entertainment value!

Product was a lot of fun and had a good bit of power to it! Unfortunately it did not last even 3 days. I have rowdy boys that fought over it and after it was thrown and held in place on the tracks, it cracked on the top and the wheel gear broke becoming useless... oh well it was fun while it lasted. I guess for a 5 or 6 year old that takes care of toys it is a winner for sure, but if you have toddlers maybe wait a year or two.

This little train can move! Now, granted, I'm comparing it to a 15 year old brio that is on its last legs, but this lil guy doesn't even slow down when you add cars to it!One thing I wish I known is that the sound everyone is talking about is just the chug chug sound, no choo-chooing. Not a big deal, I had just assumed. The noise does go on all the time, which means there is no secretly turning it off - the moment my son hears the sound stop, he runs back over to turn it on. Which, as another plus, is very easy to do for little fingers!So overall great little train!Edit: It ran several hours a day for two whole weeks before I had to change the battery!

Overall the product is nice, my son loves it, he’s a train fanatic. I am only giving 4 stars since the middle button immediately fell off when we opened it, it was slightly disappointing and I’ve had to reattach it a few times, possibly will end up adding a little glue so that it stays in place and doesn’t get lost. The train is durable and fast it pulls quite a few carriages (we have a lot) which my son enjoys. The little lights at the front are also a nice addition. Unfortunately you can’t put any people in the front but it doesn’t take away from the train. Will purchase again in the future depending how long this train lasts, my son likes to take them with him everywhere(of course XD) I would recommend this train to other parents as well. The price is reasonable and we received it very quickly.Edit: they sent out a new one shortly after and everything was fine have purchased a few more since then, since my son loved them so much.

my 5 year old was so excited to get this. from the way it was packaged to the actual product, you can tell it is high quality, and not a cheap knock off. it works exactly as advertised--easy to use controls even when the train is in motion, goes backwards and forwards, makes a realistic train sound, and has lights at the front that is fun to watch in the dark. only requires two AA batteries, which is a plus. and works on IKEA train tracks and other brands. just gave three out of five stars for the price, which is on the high side. still, very happy with this purchase!
