Easy to fit, works perfectly
Bought to replace a Passat B7 estate trunk lock.Easy to replace and works perfectly. To replace it you must have a specific allen bolt to remove the screws. Good value for money and quality.

Excelent quality boot latch at a fraction of the price of OEM part.
Excelent quality aftermarket replacement tailgate boot latch, that was very easy to fit once the interior panel had been removed. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that I couldn't get the interior panel to fit correctly around the latch, as the plastic cover at the latch was slightly different to the OEM latch. This was relatively easy to fix once I'd removed the latch and swapped the original latch cover over to the replacement.

Perfect Fit, Exceptional Price
Nothing to dislike at all here. This part fitted perfectly. No slack or tightness at all. I can't comment on durability yet but It looked well made. For the price this replacement cannot be beaten.

It didn't actually lock!
It looked just the same as the old one and was easy to swap. The only issue is that it didn't actually lock. It just about held the boot shut and would release on the handle being pulled, but it tuned out that without much effort you could just pull the boot and it would just open. I found this out when the boot opened up while I was driving down the road. The issue with this type of catch is that the spindle inside breaks and then when you pull the handle you can hear the motor but it just won't open. So what I did was take the spindle out of this lock and put it in the original lock and it was good as new. Take from this what you will as I now have a working lock and either way the bit that I was really replacing was just the spindle so it worked out for me.
