 Perfect For My Apt It Keeps Room warmer And makes a pretty good size flame

 This is great. I now have two, one in den and one in living room of our summer house.

This is a nice unit that easy to install, easy to clean, and also looks good. It's not really the same as having a roaring fire in a fireplace, and the fuel will cost you and arm and a leg, but it's nice for ambience and having a fireplace where there was no fireplace before.

I love the concept of this fireplace and it does provide the ambiance I was looking for. I just wish the flames would burn a little higher more regularly during burn time. you can feel the heat it provides if you're standing very close to the unit.

If you live in an apt and yearn for a cozy fire once in a while ,this is for you. It costs alot for that fire and it's kind of smelly but..it's a fire!!!And that is a good thing.Super easy to install..I've moved it 5 times.DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON TOP.DO NOT ADD FUEL TO A BURNING FLAME.TRUST ME. Oh yes the christmas flareup of 2010...

I'm so glad that we purchased this fireplace for our living room. It was easy to mount, has a small footprint, and looks great. Even warms our small space to make it more comfortable on cold winter nights. We've received numerous compliments on it. Can't recommend enough and wish we had bought it much sooner!

Relative to comparable alcohol burning fireplaces, this one is an absolute steal. Ours arrived promptly, in great shape. It's beautifully finished as well. Also, given the product's relatively light weight, it can even be mounted on a movable platform. For example, I plan to mount it on the face of a pullout section of a wall that will contain our home theater system components.The product's instructions do indicate that, while it can be mounted on plasterboard or wallpapered walls, it should be kept four feet away from flammables -- draperies and the like. So I'm not certain whether it would be safe to mount it on a plywood-paneled partition, or whether it would be safe to hang an acrylic-covered framed print above it.I've passed along these questions to the folks at Devon LLC who market the product, so hopefully we shall soon see. They were kind enough to have a real live human being answer their phone who promised to have an informed party respond to my inquiry, so I have my fingers crossed...

This review is for the purchase/return of the fire place I ordered. The purchase was made in December and shipped promptly.Now, for my issues and I hope it helps future customers. I made the big mistake of purchasing this fire place as a surprise gift. So if that is your plan, don't do it. Let the "giftee" know so they can do their own research on it. When my gift arrived, they didn't even open the box, just read some paperwork and freaked out saying this fireplace was dangerous to their pets and did not want it. They have been wanting a fireplace for years and their daughter assured me they would love this gift. So I had to pay close to $50 to return the item. My big surprise is my total purchase was not refunded. The company that shipped it charged me approx.$80.00 for their shipping costs and restocking fees. Now it states free shipping. Also, no where did I read there was a restocking fee. I thought that was a MUST to be listed in return policies. When I wrote the company through Amazon that I needed to return the item, I received an e-mail giving me directions on where to ship the item, but even then no mention was made regarding a fee. I would have kept the item for myself if I had known (before I shipped it back). I was told that although the seller on Amazon didn't have that disclosed, Devco, the company that actually ships it to you, has it on their site. All I can say is do your research on this item. Think ahead and ask any and all questions prior to purchase. The reviews and info I read on Amazon were helpful to me regarding the product, but not for anything I went through. I gave the purchase 2 stars because of the prompt shipping and the company did try to work with me a little on this. Although, they told me the final fee would be one amount and charged me a few dollars more and would not tell me why when I wrote them. Sorry, but every dollar counts when you have nothing to show for it. I learned my lesson. The Internet is a wonderful tool, and it's great that you can buy just about everything on it, but it can be confusing, misleading, and costly.
