He loves building and wants to learn as much as possible about the science behind it. This gives a clear written picture regarding engineering, followed up with experiments to do on your own to visually learn the concept. I purchased a used copy that arrived in excellent, like new condition. Review: Good For Anyone - Good for any level of expertise within the field to gain an understanding and appreciation for infrastructure and how we got to now.

Practical engineering book for younger readers.
A practical and fundamental look at complex building methods. This book has brief but factual details and some "labs" that can be done at home with very few materials. I believe the intended audience is for middle and high school students.

Civil Engineering
The book on civil engineering I bought helps me learn more about how City infrastructure works and its benefits to human beings. I have always had an interest in how things were built hundreds of years ago.

'only' four stars because i was hoping for a slightly more detailed account on sewage treatment (plants). the experiments, projects and construction diagrams and the glossary deserve five stars. five stars also for readability and motivation effect - you'd just love to try out yourself those experiments and projects ... and to blazes with your thumb-fingerdness!

just waste of money
