Perfect, low-cost balancing device
It's perfect fit for blade with round mounting hole. Mine happened to be Honda/Husqvarna and balancing was very simple.

I would recommend it, but it's not perfect
As a relatively new homeowner, I'm now cutting my own grass. I grew up cutting my parents grass, but my Dad always handled the blade sharpening duties, and while I watched from time to time, I never knew much about balancing it after sharpening.I did a little research and found that this type of balancer is a good type, and it was inexpensive enough. I've heard of guys just hammering a nail into a board or wall or something, and after using this, yeah you could probably rig something up like that which would work fine, but for the price, I would just buy this guy.It is easy enough to use, but my problem that made me remove a star is the same as another review I read, that it's not as accurate as I'd like. It seems to allow the blade to be slightly out of balance and still claim it to be balanced. Would this really matter? I don't know. I ended up doing what the other reviewer did, which is to sharpen the point on the base to be a sharper point, which makes the top move to balance, easier and with less friction, which means that it is more accurate, and any blade that is on it will show more imperfections in balance, which is what I wanted to achieve. If you're curious how this "mod" works, it's simple and I'll explain it here so you know more before you buy. This unit is two pieces. There is the top stepped "cone" piece that the blades sit on, and then there is the bottom piece that has the flat base you see, and what you can't see, is that coming out of this base is a thin rod ending in a point on which the cone sits. The cone can rock and floats on this single point, so if you put an out of balance blade on it, it will just rock and show that it's out of balance. The problem is that the tip of this thing rod is not very "pointy" or sharp from the factory, probably for safety reasons. When it has a bigger point like this, the cone does not rock quite as easily due to increased friction, which can mean that a slightly out of balance blade can show that it is fine, because the balance is not off enough to overcome the friction of the cone to thick point. To fix this, all you need to do is take a file to the point, and widdle/sharpen it to a finer point, and voila, it has less surface area and less friction and will have more accuracy. Easy peasy. If you can sharpen your own lawnmower blade, you can do this "mod" in a minute. It will make perfect sense when you see it, but I wanted to describe it as best as I could, for people who don't know what this device is or what the mod entails.I would recommend this unit to a friend, and it does its job just fine. It appears to be made of cast aluminum or something, not terribly rugged, but will last a while, providing that you don't accidentally snap off the rod from the base, which looks all too possible if you're not careful in how you store or take care of it.

Works great at a good, inexpensive price.
Inexpensive, accurate and easy to use. What more could you want in a mower blade balancer.

Works if set up properly but where are the instructions?
There were no instructions as to how to set this up. I don't think it is as accurate as it should be without properly setting this up and if you do not set it up properly it will not be accurate.
