This beginner crochet book is great!! It teaches the basics in an easy to understand way. There are written instructions and pictures to show what each stitch should look like. Once the basics are instructed the book goes on to teach textured stitches. This book is a great value for the information provided.

I’m fairly new to crocheting, as I’ve always preferred knitting. Occasionally I’ve had to break out the crochet hook to close out a knitting project, but that was as far as my crochet skills went. So, I recently decided it was time to learn some more. This is certainly a great book to get you started. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I achieved a slip knot on the first try and immediately began chain stitching the first row. I’m still working on my tension, but I’m confident this little book can get me pretty far on my crochet journey. It reviews the basic techniques, terminology and theory to provide you with the fundamentals, which will then allow you to be able to follow along and understand the pros you see completing their sped up projects on YouTube. Highly recommend.

The pictures are excellent showing stitches clearly. Easy to follow instructions. Good for beginners as well as others who have some experience crocheting.

This guide was so great I came back to buy a second copy to share with a friend who is also trying to learn. I especially appreciate the spiral binding, which allows the book to lay flat while your hands are busy trying the techniques.

I had purchased this for an individual who wanted to learn how to crochet. I am tempted to keep it for myself. It has nice photos to show what it is explaining and some patterns for beginners.

This book should be labeled pictures or Pictorial Book crocheting. I just started crocheting a few weeks ago and I have about six different books and this one is the best for a beginner. pictures pictures pictures and a few sentences here and there. One thing beginner needs the most is pictures. and it’s also on a spiral binding so it lies flat.

This is a big help and it is easy for beginners to use. I loaned it to a friend who wanted to learn how to crochet, she loved it.

I'm a beginner with crocheting and this is really a great book with simple steps to follow. Most importantly, the binding is so smart and it makes it so easy to read while practising at the same time. I do not have to constantly worry about keeping the book open. Highly recommended.

This spiral bound & soft cover stitch book has plenty of very useful and good quality photos of each stitch, so even a beginner can follow easily and with confidence. The spiral design is handy. The page design is well thought out, with each stitch illustrated on facing pages - so no flipping to get to next step - with clear and simple explanations. Author also made a point of using yarn colours that make following the creation of the stitch very simple. The table of contents shown in the ad makes it clear that this book does not contain the more complicated and less used stitches so you'll have to look elsewhere for those. However, the most frequently used stitches in afghans, sweaters, dishcloths, tea cosy's, etc. are here for fast and convenient reference. Also covers other basics like changing colours, fastening off, and finishing & edging. This would make a terrific and inexpensive stocking stuffing for a budding crafter or even an old gal like me that's forgotten some of these stiches.

A lovely book for those starting out in crochet . It goes over the basics such as equipment needed ,most used crochet stitches , increasing and decreasing, showing you what the stitches look like etc in clear well written instructions with good pictures.
