I can scream from the roof tops how Vanish saved my life. We have well water and had a dark brown pool. I wanted to cry and was ready to drive into this pool when I found vanish. I was very on edge when I found vanish but it literally worked in a hour and I had crystal clear water. Keep reading because this is important you need to put both canisters in all away around the pool with the pump off. Leave the pump off for a hour or more. The pool was crystal clear and bright blue. I did not have to vacuum and it removed all stains. This is very fast and easy to use. I will order this over and over again and post every-time I see water with medals. This product doesn’t work if you don’t follow the directions though. You also have to make sure your PH is level first. It’s great quality if you’re ready to drink, cry, and get rid of the pool you HAVE to try this it won’t disappoint.

I ordered this product because my pool liner was completely stained greenish yellow. I thought it was algae but algaecide had no affect. Tried scrubbing, not! Tried other name brand stain & scale remover, not! Read the reviews on this product & decided to give it a try. Shut off my filter & started pouring it around the perimeter of the pool then across the center. Four pounds in total. I went to discard the containers in the trash & by the time I got back to the pool, there was a 95% improvement to the liner. I couldn't believe how fast this product worked. By the time I turned my filter back on in a hour, my pool was sparkling clear. This is the first time I have ever written a review on a product. I just couldn't believe how fast & good this product worked. Definitely 5 stars*****

Not an effective stain remover- at least not for my gunite pool! After researching and reading multiple online Amazon and Reddit reviews and watching U Tube videos on pool stain removal products, I decided to give this one a try. I ordered the double pack as some reviews had mentioned needing a second application. After lowering the pH and chlorine as instructed, I added the first container to my pool. As some reviews recommended letting it sit for a day or two and some described following the package instructions exactly which meant turning the pump back on one hour after application, I decided to initially try a compromise between the two sets of instruction and turned my pump back on a couple of hours after application. I figured if this was unsuccessful, I could let it sit longer with application of the second container. Since there were no results after running the pump 48 hours after the first application AND scrubbing the pool vigorously with a metal pool brush multiple times over that 48 hours, I proceeded to adding the second container. This time I let it sit in an unfiltered pool for another 48 hours before resuming filtering. Again, no results! To further collaborate this finding, I had used a Culator metal sequestering packet which comes with a nice color chart indicating the type of metal leached from the pool after stain removal and mine was still white! Meaning no metal had been removed!Since I still have metal stains in the pool, I plan to try ascorbic acid next as I’ve read it is more effective than the citric acid in this product. I hope so as this process is getting expensive!I’ll post a review of that product next.In summary, if you have really set on pool stains, this product may not work on your pool despite your best efforts!

Cleared the pool stains fast. For years have had issue where every season the pool steps and pool would be brownish after opening. Mostly over the years I concentrated on just clearing the steps using a single bottle of vitamin c tablets in a skimmer bag since those were supposed to be white and the liner was a brown anyway.This year the staining was a bit more extensive on the liner. After cleaning the steps it was very visible that the liner around the steps was a much lighter color than the rest of the pool.I was worried I might have to try doing the whole pool manually.Found this stuff. Put 2 pounds in this morning, waited an hour like the directions said, then turned on my pool robot (not the filter). Came back and by 2:30pm the pool liner is clean & clear. I thought it was going to need 4 lbs based on the 1lb per 10k of water but even half dosed worked fine.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Works great. Sprinkled over ugly stained white pool steps and like a miracle they came clean without scrubbing. Also used on skimmer box screws..badly stained, had to scrub but came reasonably clean. For the price this stuff is well worth is. It works.

I do not write reviews because I just am not that impressed with most products but this product is amazing! Spent $300 at the pool store and still had a brownish yellow stain all over my pool! Went back and spent another $66 and it did clean some of the color off the steps! Did some research and took a chance on this product! Followed the directions and within an hour I had a beautiful blue pool with no stains! I wish I took a before and after but i was beginning to think my liner was just bad and the color had stained it forever! If you have stains from metal in your pool this product WORKS!

Works ok but does take all the chlorine out of your water so you’ll have to add more chlorine after this process is done

We had some pretty severe staining from a Pool Rx (Copper Sulfate metal stains). When I first applied the product, the stains instantly disappeared where the powder fell directly on the surface. I was concerned because the stains were significant. I used one container (2 lb) and barely got the top two steps. I gave up and came inside to order 2 more jars. The next morning, after sitting with the product all night, all of the stains were gone! So if it seems like it's not working, give it 24 hours, the results will amaze you. We have a fiberglass shell built-in pool, 12' x 24' and 3.5 ft deep. Product worked on sides as well. I highly recommend this product for metal staining in pools.
