Exactly the item you need if you are planning to take your backpack overseas
Let's be honest - Traveling with a backpack can pose a unique set of challenges. Is it too bulky to bring on the plane? What about all those straps? You get the idea. This marks my second purchase of this product. I've got two sizes to accommodate my backpacks: a medium one and a small one. I've found these to be a fantastic solution for securely packing my backpack when embarking on international journeys, whether I'm carrying it onboard or checking it in as luggage. It has eliminated my worries about fussing with each strap and the time it typically consumes, not to mention the hassle of untying them upon arrival. What I truly appreciate about this bag is its self-contained design. Unzip it, open it up, place my backpack inside, and I'm good to go. It folds up easily, is lightweight, and takes up minimal space within my backpack. It's practically perfect. My sole disappointment is that it only has a single carrying strap. I would prefer two straps for a backpack-style carry, but instead, I have to sling it over my shoulders, which I find somewhat awkward, even with the adjustable strap. One thing to keep in mind when purchasing is that they run a bit large. My Osprey 48L backpack fits comfortably in the small size.

Great option for storing or traveling with backpacking gear
For years when traveling to go on backpacking trips, I would shove all of my gear into a large piece of checked luggage. This protector completely solved that and is significantly lighter and easier to transport than a large piece of luggage. I love arriving to my destination and all of my gear is already packed in my backpack, I just have to pull it out of this protector. I purchased the medium size and it's more than large enough to fit my 65L bag fully packed, plus there's still some extra room for me to throw an additional pair of shoes or other gear on top of it before zipping it up. Has made airline travel with all of my gear a lot easier and convenient. Would surely recommend to anyone who travels with gear to go on wilderness trips.

Great airline bag covers for backpacks..except..
Used these (2 ea) recently on a month long 6 country Europe trip.. Worked well for bag checked Rick Steves Backpacks. Only change I would suggest is a better grip handle for picking the bags up.. The one that is provided is very thin and w/o a decent hand grip, its tough to lug your bag around until you remove your backpack. It does have a shoulder type strap but again too thin to really carry.. Other than that, a great protective cover.. Might be some way to make or purchase some sort of wrap around straps that would include a better hand grip. I'm looking for one.. Any one have any ideas, put in the comments section below my review.. Thanks..

Great brand, necessary product
If you are a backpacker and you travel with your pack via airplane, you likely will have to put your pack in checked luggage. This pack protector is what I needed for an upcoming long-haul trip with multiple flight segments (thus, multiple plane changes). Ensuring my pack was safe, protected and intact when it arrived was critical. This rugged Airporter Protector Bag was the solution.

Perfect fit for my Gregory Focal 58L.
I needed a bag to check my Gregory Focal 58L backpack on a flight. Other reviews led me to believe a small one of these would just fit my backpack. I purchased this, and was happy to see that it did indeed perfectly fit my fully loaded backpack. It's a bit heavy and awkward for the brief time it has to be carried into the airport, but I wouldn't want it to be any more substantial than it is, since I had to fold it into its internal pouch (very nice) and carry it with me for the entire hiking trip. It is also nice how the shoulder strap tucks into a pouch on the bag for when you check it. The material quality seems very good, and this bag just worked perfectly for what I needed.

Stood up Well
My husband has the Osprey Aether 70 AG and I have a Gregory Deva 60. The medium was perfect for his pack and the small was perfect for mine. The medium not only covered his full pack, but also left plenty of room around the sides for bags of dirty laundry and other items. It would fit a sleeping bag inside along with your pack. The small also had some extra room for me and a sleeping bag would fit in the small with my 60L as well. Anything larger for either of our packs would have been to billowy. For reference: We used these to cover our packs during our most recent trip from US to SE Asia. It consisted of 8 planes, multiple buses, and a ship. Two of the flights were 15 hours and 12 hours and our bags were handled by countless hands and equipment. No problems. They got very dirty and washed easily. Our packs would have looked haggard and would not have washed up so easily. I am so glad we purchased these!

Too Big for an 85 liter backpack
The idea is good: protect your backpack while in transit. Two problems I have had with this bag: First, as others have said, the handle to carry the bag is quite awkward. Why does it not have straps like a backpack or even like a suitcase/duffle bag? Instead it comes with an over the shoulder strap which is neither here nor there and hence makes carrying it, with the backpack inside, difficult. Second, it is huge. I have a lot of empty space after I put my 85 liter backpack in it. I have not checked it in yet. I would imagine the backpack would move around a lot inside this bag, and I am not sure how putting additional items in the bad would work since is thin and items would easily shift around. Overall, I think this is a good idea but badly executed.

These bags are huge!
I have the Osprey Xenith 75 which is a 79 liter backpack. I originally bought the large air porter bag and it was HUGE. Width wise it was perfect but it had a ton of extra slack length wise. I then ordered the medium and it too was too big for my 79 liter pack. I then ordered the small and it fit like a glove (with the daypack top attachment removed). The size ratings on these need to be adjusted, but very happy with the product. I went from Philadelphia to Austin, Austin to Las Vegas, Las Vegas to Jacksonville and Jacksonville back to Philadelphia and it held up without a hitch. I hope this helps so you don’t have to order all three to find the perfect fit like I had to. I know the rating for Large is 70-110 liters but it should probably be 100-110 liters.
