Q: Can someone help identify each of the 10 marine creatures? Not mentioned anywhere on the board.

I was also wondering about the purple creature. My kid has a Big Book of Sea Creatures and we thought it was a Ornate Wobbegong; but I believe you are right with skate fish. The wobbegong has a very similar form but has whiskery mouth tassles and the skate has more of the pointed face indicated. I was calling it a horseshoe crab until this was really brought to issue. :)

Q: I see that the magnet is a long red block for some of the fishing poles. Is the magnet inside the block or attached at the end on the outside?

It is inside the block. But it doesn't work unfortunately. The magnet is not strong enough to pick up the pieces.

Q: Can I replace the pole. I lost mine.

Q: Does the fishing pole have a magnet at the end? (one that can come off & be accidentally swallowed by a child) Or is the rod itself just magnetized?

magnet at the end of pole but doesn't look like it would get loose.....we just supervise the little one when she is playing with it and then put it away

brilliant toy

I bought this for my 3 year old son who likes to play with toys that require concentration (eg. threading bobbins and putting money in a money box).He had lots of toys Christmas day and this was the one he kept coming back to. A firm favourite. Its chunky, brightly coloured - lovely to look at- and tactile. Although there are smaller pieces they seem to stay together and so does the fishing "pole". He realy enjoys it and he tells me all the names of the creatures as he plays. The only word of caution is I think there is a slight weakness to the sides of the puzzle as it is bare plywood here. So watch out for water, the sides are a bit soft as I found out as I tried to get the plastic off and my sissors scored the edges easily. Normal play etc should not affect the durability of the toy.

Perfect for airport

I bought this for my daughter 18 months and she loves it ,spent a long time picking up fish etc . Great for hand eye coordination , colour recognition and counting. We took it on holiday and whilst waiting at airport played fishing to pass the time, and it doesn't take up much room. I took along a tub with lid to keep the fish in once they were " caught" .
