These cookies are wonderful! They taste like the perfect French butter cookie that they are. They are a bit thicker and more crumbly than the Grande Gallettes, but have the same great taste.

Yummy cookies, nothing beats the taste of French butter cookies

These are not the St Michel cookies I remember. I didn't know that they made a shortbread. The taste is rather bland. I'm not pleased with this product at all.

If you like butter cookies, you will love these; buttery good.Order a 3 box pack, they sometimes come a little broken up in a single box alone... but still very eatable, especially with milk or tea! YUMMY

St Michel makes several version of this, and this one is not at all the same quality as others. Very dissapointed.

The cookies were pretty good.

To call these "shortbreads" is an understatement. This St. Michel Butter Palets are by far the most delicious "shortbreads" we've had in years. Or ever. Just the scent of them is drool-worthy. A pure butter cookie that smells divine. Our habit now is to breathe them before eating them. They have a gorgeous buttery crunch and a flavour that is out of this world. I actually gave a box of these to my granddaughter (among other things) for her 15th birthday and she was thrilled. To preserve freshness, because they are NOT loaded with preservatives (or anything other than their few basic ingredients found in any baker's kitchen) they come in 4 foil pouches of 3 cookies each. Perfect for lunch kits, purses, backpacks or a pocket. As a Canadian with Britsh/Scottish/Irish ancestry, shortbread is a family tradition, especially at Christmas. Even granny-baked homemade cookies are NOT as rich, crisp and delicious as these. And even though some Scottish brands of shortbread are tasty, they come nowhere near these golden delights. I have recently bought several packs and, now that we know about St. Michel brand, nothing else will do. I have no interest in this company and nobody paid me for this review. It is strictly my opinion of these out-of-this-world delicious biscuits.

Oh man, I ordered these after someone else described them as being the BEST cookie they had ever tried. The 'best'? I had to give them a go, of course. I mean, how good could a cookie be, anyway, right? Oh, sweet Jesus, I wish I had never tired them. They are in fact the BEST damn cookie on the planet. Seriously, go ahead and try them, be ready to admit they are the best though as they are. Now I'm a cookie eating machine and my butt, trust me, is not happy about it. I hate it when someone says something 'melts in your mouth,' as that sounds kind of gross to me. And yet, that's exactly what these things do. Sigh. (I hide them now so the kids won't find them).
