Good insight into Grimshaw's architecture but not a good example of technical sketching
I bought this sketchbook because I wanted to study some good examples of technical hand sketching, to help improve my own ability. While I greatly admire Nicholas Grimshaw's work (if only there were more architect's like him!) I wouldn't particularly rate his sketching ability. The sketches are in biro and are quite rough and ready. He's done very well for himself but they're not particularly a style I'd like to emulate. However in terms of a study of Grimshaw's approach, it's been a really nice read. The prologue was very interesting and then seeing early sketches of buildings I recognise was quite fun. You could probably read the whole thing in an hour or two but very good nonetheless.
