a Wonderful Mission Tool
How else could one possible convey to young ones that God made the earth round so nothing falls off into space,...I the same God who made this all want me to come here from Texas, USA... to see you in Uganda, Africa! Packing is limited for us, so coming up with useful and meaningful "tools" to leave behind for the teachers and churches to use once we leave is challenging. I look forward to the reaction the kids and adults will have over this new discovery they will soon see...a round world that can explains to them our planet. My only regret is that I couldn't afford to buy more globes so more could be left for other schools!

Not perfect but fun and good to familiarize
I got this for our daughters to play with, we've been on a geography theme. The maps are not perfect, but I wouldn't expect them to be for the price - I have a real globe for that. The continents are in the right place and that's enough for familiarity. Both girls (one is 5 years and the other 5 months!) love my globe and like to hear about the places on it, but I don't want them playing with my nice (and expensive) globe. So this gives them their own to play with. They both love it - they roll it, bounce it. Its a beach ball after all. It's a good compliment to the Melissa and Doug World Map Floor puzzle.

You will NOT get the globe pictured here.
This globe was cheap. It will help you point out where countries are to your child. Other than that, it is crap. It is NOT the globe pictured here. This one is clear (not blue). It's also smaller. It's made extremely poorly to the point where the seam artificially squishes the countries. The most frustrating part is that it is NOT what I ordered. I contacted the seller and they told me it was amazon's problem because amazon does the shipping. PLEASE FIX THE PICTURE AND DESCRIPTION!!

Useful, very useful
Send these to your third world friends who have never even seen a world map, much less a globe. (I was stunned when I found that this was the case in Rwanda.) They are cheap to mail. And if you have no third world friends, just send them to the Minister of Education in whatever country you choose and let him/her take the credit for distributing them to schools.

It's a bird, it's a plane, nope, it's a globe.
It is exactly as it's called, an inflatable globe ball. The size is nice because you can actually see some of the smaller countries, and the writing is mostly legible. The only downside is that the ball isn't very well made, the seams are sharp and overlap, meaning any words or poor little countries caught in the crossfire are not legible. There is a release valve on the bottom which only further complicates the use of this as any kind of a ball. Can't exactly roll around with fins on the side and a rubber nipple on the bottom. More like a weeble wobble. Daughter loves it, but can't be used for anything beyond kicking or throwing around like any other due to the craftsmanship.

get what you pay for.
we bought this because our five year old to help him understand where family lived around the US. It does help but it deflates very quickly too.

Perfect for classroom
I used this for "globe toss", where my kids identify if their left thumb is touching land or water. We tally the results and determine if indeed the Earth is covered with 71% water. Worked like a charm. Large enough so that they could easily catch it, light enough I didn't worry about bonking each other. We plan to identify continents later and perhaps countries after that.

Not at all as pictured!
Is an inexpensive item so I did not expect it to be super "high quality" or anything, but it does not look AT ALL like pictured. It is clear with no blue whatsoever, and the continent colors look a lot different than in the picture. Definitely not smooth & perfectly rounded like in the picture (lopsided with flat area on the bottom), but I kind of expected that to an extent. I used these as a decoration for a "Holidays Around the World" show at an elementary school, so didn't need perfection, but being totally the wrong color & not matching the other decorations was a real bummer :(

Not very good quality of the image. Hemispheres are glued not matching the other half. Really bad.

Some countries lost due to seam.
